Part 12: The First Task

Mazikeen's POV:
I walked into the hospital wing and went to Harry who was sitting beside Viktor's bed with Fleur. I went to Harry "Are they dead?" Harry shook his head "Francis and Natalia are still alive just hurt badly" I crossed my arms while looking at Viktor "They should be dead for hurting him. If I ever see them again I'm killing them myself" Harry nodded "Do you want me to tell him?" I laughed a little "Yeah just tell my dad that the people who I thought were my parents came to Hogwarts to probably kidnap me and ended up hurting my date yeah that's a very good idea Harry" I rolled my eyes and Harry looked at Fleur "I can't tell if she's being sarcastic or not" Harry sighed and Fleur shrugged.

Fleur and Harry left that night and I stayed by Viktor's side. I decided to wait until he woke up so I could talk with him. I felt guilty about all of this. From what Madam Pomfrey said he is just resting but I still felt bad about everything. I held onto the necklace Viktor gifted to me. I sat there still in the beautiful dress as I waited. I thought about how Viktor had sat at my bedside when I was here.

I had dozed off when I heard Karkaroff walk in and start talking to Madam Pomfrey. "Will he be able to compete in the first task coming up?" I kept my eyes closed as I listened "Yes he's just resting for now but he should be able to compete"

~~~~~~The day of the first task~~~~~~
I woke up that morning feeling nervous as ever. Both Viktor and Cain were going to be competing. I made my way to the arena with everyone else but stopped at the champions tent. Viktor has asked me to meet him there yesterday so I went in. I saw Harry was as nervous as ever. Fleur was looking at the floor. Cain looked nervous but not as bad as Harry. I didn't see Viktor which was weird so I went to Cain. "Well brother this is quite the sight. I haven't seen you this nervous before" Cain nodded "I regret putting my name in now" I laughed which made Cain glare at me "I told you not to but you didn't listen"
Rita Skeeter then entered the tent with her camera man. "Well look at this lively bunch" She walked in and looked at all of us "I thought there was only one girl chosen. What happened to that Bulgarian boy?" I looked at her "I'm not a champion." She nodded "Oh well I'm Rita Skeeter but you're probably already know that Ms?" She stuck out her hand for me to shake. "Morningstar. Mazikeen Morningstar." I went to shake her hand when she gasped and pulled me closer looking at the palms of both of my hands "You! You're the girl with the moon and star scars! You must be Viktor's date!" I looked back at Cain who walked over and pulled me closer to him "That's enough for now" Rita smirked "So Mazikeen how does it feel for your love and own brother to be competing against eachother? Who are you rooting for?" I looked at Cain "I-I-" I heard someone walk in "You have no business here. This tent is for champions and friends" I saw Viktor walk over as he took my hand "Are you alright?" I nodded as Rita had a picture of us taken "If anything goes wrong then you two might make the front page!"

Dumbledore and the other headmasters walked in "Good day champions! Gather round" I saw Hermione was here too and so did Dumbledore. "Ms Granger? Ms Morningstar? What are you doing here?" Me and Hermione looked at eachother "Oh I'll just be going" Hermione walked out. Viktor looked at me and kissed my hand "I'll be fine I promise" I nodded and looked at Cain "If you die then I'll kill you" Cain laughed a little "I don't think that's possible Maze" I started to walk out "I don't care I'll make it possible" I saw Igor nod at me as I walked out. I went and sat with Hermione, Ron and the twins. I had a bad feeling about all of this.

"So they are going against dragons?" Fred laughed. I turned around "Wait what were you saying about dragons?" George smiled "They are going against dragons" Me and Hermione looked at eachother "The Dragon will chase the Lion in the sky....." I muttered before looked down. I sighed "But who's the lion?"

The first task began and I watched in fear. First up was Cain and he was able to get to the egg pretty quick but got burned a little in the process which scared me. Fleur did pretty good but her skirt caught on fire. Viktor was the quickest but smashed a few of the real eggs on accident which got points deducted. Then it was Harry's turn. He started out pretty good and got his broom involved which was cool but then the dragon broke it's chain and got free. It started chasing after Harry and for a while we couldn't see him. He soon returned and got the egg. That's when I realized what that meant. The lion was Harry. After the task everyone started to leave and I ran down to the champions tent. When I ran in I saw Dumbledore and Professor Moody looking at me "The lion was Harry" Dumbledore nodded "Yes we realized that now. I need you to start coming to me or one of the other professors if you get another vision." I nodded "I will" I walked over to Cain and Viktor who were talking. Right when I walked over they stopped talking "Hey guys?" They both looked at me "Oh hey Maze" Viktor smiled "Ok you two out with it. What were you talking about" They shrugged "It was nothing-" Cain laughed and Rita came back over with her camera man. "Ms Morningstar I have some questions for you" I turned around and looked at her "Yes?" Rita smiled "So is it true that you predicted the dragon chase during the task today?" I looked at Cain and Viktor "No comment." I started to walk away when she asked something else "Well is it true you and Viktor Krum are dating?"
