No trace of Micheal and Steph's conversation was ever found. They both acted like they were still acquaintances and continued on with their daily life.

Tommy had asked to see her multiple times but today was the only day she came. She didn't want to mix business and pleasure, although she was 99% sure Tommy Shelby couldn't please her in any way.

The pair walked beside the canal, holding umbrellas as the rain poured down on them both.

"I'm surprised you turned up today Miss Vanslow." He chuckled to himself. "This truly is a rare occurrence."

Steph looked over, he was smiling. "You smiling? That's a rare occurrence." She joked lightly back. He smiled slightly more shook his head.

"I've got a reason to."

Curiously, Steph looked at him once again. "How so?"

"Im here with you, in my favourite spot, and I'm going to win the war." He said beaming. They both found a nearby bench and Tommy pulled off his coat for them to sit on. Steph nodded in thanks as she sat down next to him.

"I guess that is a good enough reason." She said shuffling her feet on the floor as the canal boats slowly stalked along the river. She sighed. "This is so beautiful even if it is industrial all around." she spoke softly.

Tommy looked over at her. "I know. It's such a rare sight. I could sit here and admire it for days on end." He replied although it seemed they wasn't talking about the same 'canal'.

"Makes me feel nostalgic." Steph smiled shaking her head. "How did things get so complicated eh?"

"Well was it ever simple?" he asked brushing his fingers over the back of her hand.

Steph didn't move her hand. She was comforted by him, even though she hated him.

Although she couldn't help but wonder if it was true. Did she truly hate him? Or was it merely something else her father had sprung on her?

She sat contemplating everything as Tommy's hand moved to her thigh. He squeezed it gently and they shared a warm smile.

"You look beautiful." He said, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. She blushed slightly and nodded "thanks."

Tommy's eyebrows furrowed as a smile grew on his face. "Let's play a game." He suggested.

"Alright."

"It's a get to know each other game, so we take it in turns to share something about ourselves. Got it?" he looked over and Steph nodded. "I'll start," he began, tapping his foot on the Rocky floor, "I've been in love twice."

Steph nodded her head to show her interest, "I've never been in love." she stared blankly.

"Interesting. How come?"

Good question.

Why was it Steph had never fallen in love? She suggested her father, maybe she was incapable, maybe she had been but just never realised.

She looked at his eyes. They were glimmering and stood out against the monochrome grey setting. "I don't know." She admitted.

He nodded, taking in the information. "We'd be good together. Don't you think?"

Steph looked at him confused. "No."

Taken back, Tommy responded bitterly "why not?"

"I'll break your heart."

He shook his head playfully. "Maybe I'll break yours." He winked.

Steph looked straight ahead. "No body breaks my heart. And anyways, why would I want that?"

Tommy gently grabbed her chin and turned her face towards him. "Somebody breaks your heart my dear. I can see that you're broken. That's why you are so destructive."

Their eyes met as the silence filled the space between them. Tommy tilted her chin upwards more towards him and leant in.

Their lips touched gently as butterflies grew within them both. Steph just let it happen, she followed his lead at first until she began to grow hungry.

She deepened the kiss and their tongues fought between their mouths. Tommy's arm snakes around Steph's lower back and pulled her in closer.

The kisses got more passionate and Steph moved herself onto his lap.

Tommy's hands explored her body and made their way to her assets and back down to her back.

Tommy pulled away and made his way to her neck, kissing it deeply and giving her love bites. Steph breathed heavily.

She immediately pulled away after slipping back into reality, realising what she had done. She climbed off of him and grabbed her things.

"Where are you going?" Tommy said as her heels clicked from walking.

"This was a mistake." She spat back as she picked up the pace.

Tommy sat there confused on what went wrong.

Steph walked quickly back to town to get a carriage back to the wagons as she regretted what happened ever so deeply.
