Toronto, Canada:Khushi's outfit
Gupta House's Prayer Room
"Hai Devi Maiya! Aap bas humari iss bar rakhsha karna, hum aapko 10 nahi 20 plate jalebiya prashad meh chadiyenge. (Please Devi Maiya! Help me out just this once, I'll give you a holy offering of not only 10 but 20 plates of jalebis.)" pleaded Khushi, frantically praying in front of her one and only Devi Maiya.
Hearing all this commotion, Rashmi rushed to the prayer room, expecting an emergency only to find her crazy, dramatic daughter hyperventilating in front of a laptop.
"Offo! Ab kya naya pagalpan hai yeh? Itni subah subah kyu chilarahi ho? Aur woh bhi Devi Maiya ke samnhe? (OMG! Why are you acting like a crazy person and shouting this early in the morning? And that too, in front of our Goddess?)" Rashmi asked with exasperation.
Khushi came out of her desperate musings and rushed to her mother. She started explaining her situation, fluttering here and there like an anxious butterfly.
"Amma! London main 11 baj gaye hai, par ab tak professors ne results nahi upload keeyeh. Amma, main kya karu? Devi Maiya bhi meri baat nahi sunrahi! (Mom! It's already 11:00 am in London and the professors still haven't uploaded my results online. What should I do, Mom? Even, Devi Maiya isn't helping me!)"
"Arrey tum itna kyu gabaraarehi ho? Bas meri titaliya, ab shant ho jao. Doh minute baad fir check karlena. Aur haan breakfast keh liye jaldi se anna. Mujhe ap sub se baat karni hai. (Why are you panicking this much? Please calm down, my butterfly. Just check again in two minutes. And, hurry up for breakfast. I have something to tell you all.)" said Rashmi, while leaving for the kitchen.
Rashmi had just started cooking some parathas when she heard a loud exclamation of delight. Looks like her daughter passed with flying colours.

The Kitchen/Dining Area
"Acha suniye, Jiji ka phone aaya tha, aaj subah. Woh keh rahi thi ki, Ankit babu kha rishta teh hogaya hai. Do mahaine baad shaadi hai uski. Mujhe lagta hai ki hume jaana chahiye. Khushi ki padaai bhi puri ho gayi hai ab toh. Aur usse wahahi nohkari karni hai, toh hum woh shaadi bhi attend karlenge aur Khushi koh wahah Jiji aur Payal keh saath settle karke hi lautenge. (Jiji called today morning. She said Ankit's marriage has been fixed. It's going to take place in 2 months. I think we should go to India. Khushi has finished her studies now and she wants to work in Delhi as well. So, we can attend the wedding and make sure Khushi is settled there with Jiji and Payal before returning.)" confided Rashmi.
"Haan tumne sahi kaha Rashu. Jiji ko hum kabhi milne bhi nahi gaye, Jijaji ke guzaarne ki baad. Che sal hogaye hai aur woh hum sab ko itne pyaar se bolarehi hai toh hume jaana chahiye. Khushal tum ticket book karlo, main Mahendraji, Sodhiji aur Premnathji se dhukan ke baare me baat karloonga. Hum sab doh hafte baad jayenge. (I agree with you, Rashu. I haven't visited my sister since her husband died. It's been 6 years now so, we should go to the wedding. Khushal, book the tickets for all of us and I'll ask Mahendra, Sodhi, and Premnath to take care of the sweet shops in our absence. We'll leave in 2 weeks.)" declared Shaurya.
"Ji papa. Main aaj hi tickets ko book karloonga. (Yes Dad. I book the tickets today.)" agreed, Khushal, while standing up to leave his plate in the sink.
"Khushi tumhari India main job application poori hogayi kya? (Khushi, are your job applications in India finished?)" asked Shaurya, finishing the last of his breakfast.
"Haan babuji. Mujhe AR main interview bhi mila hai doh hafte baad ka. Isi liye maine apni ticket ek hafte baad ki book karli hain. (Yes Dad. I got an interview at AR Designs that takes place 2 weeks later. So, I already booked my ticket to India to leave in a week.)" informed Khushi.
"Shabash beta! Toh tum pehle chahlejana aur hum sab tumhe uske ek hafte baad milenge. Jiji ki madat karlena aur usse zayada tung mat karna. (Good Job my daughter! So, you'll go there first and we'll see you there after a week. Make sure to help your aunt and don't bother her too much.)" replied Shaurya.
"Ji babuji. Main buaji ka poora khayal rakhungi. (Yes Dad. I make sure to take care of my aunt.)" said Khushi.
