The team went back in their home base, despair filling the room with a few tears on their faces. Splinter noticed, and assumed the obvious: Karai went away.
"We're... so sorry, sensei..." Leo spoke.
"My daughter..." Splinter whispered. The turtles took him into a family hug. The humans felt guilt and pity for them, up until (Y/N) spoke.
"We can't lose hope yet. Karai may be gone, but I believe that she would want us to win this war. The world is at stake of being in the hands of the Kraang, and we won't let them take over. With a little bit of faith and great courage, we will overthrow the Kraang empire. For Karai..."
Everyone was silent as they stared at her for a little, then Leo spoke up after her.
"She's right. Karai believes in us. We will take New York back and bring peace in the city. We've done it once, and we will do it again.""We just need time to find out what the Kraang is up to. Until then, we have to settle down. Too much has happened the past few days." Raph said after them.

.Leo and (Y/N) were sitting together on the couch, watching the news reporter be all Kraang like with the others, except for Donnie and Mikey screaming in the back room. Leo had noticed his girlfriend hugging herself in his arm, still acting the same way she was ever since they left the farmhouse. Sure, she usually gets back to her normal self every once in a while, but she would just get back to being cold and serious. He just had to know what's up.
"(Y/N)... you really need to tell me what's going on.""We're... thinking about how to save the world?" She asked obliviously.
"No, what's going on in here." Leo said, poking her forehead. "You're definitely off ever since we arrived back into the city."
"Yeah, dude. And you haven't even mentioned your family, like, at all." Casey added. She looked down at the ground, then jumped with the others when an explosion went off.
"...I-it's not important..." She whispered.
"Whatever messed you up is important for me to know. Please, (Y/N), just tell us." Leo told her. Splinter went to the back room to stop the nuisance in the background. She sighed deeply and curled into a ball, leaning against Leo.
"While I was... in the spirit plane... I came across my old sensei..." She started.
"Hajimari?" Leo asked, turning his torso to her. She nodded. "Why was he there? Isn't the spirit plane supposed to be a place where you fight your inner adversary?"
"The thing is... he was my inner adversary."
Donnie walked in all excited, until Casey motioned him to back off. Don gave a look until the other dude tilted his head at (Y/N). He then widened his eyes and nodded, turning back to the back door.
"I remember when I was training under him, he had this face covering over his eyes... and when he took it off when I saw him, his eyes were pitch black...""Really?" Raph asked. Casey hit him with his elbow.
"Bro, she wouldn't lie about what she saw in the spirit world." Casey replied. "Sorry, you can continue."
"He told me about what happened back at Osaka, why I was the only one who attended, and what the clan actually is..."
"What is it?" Leo asked.
"A... cult..." She started tearing up as everyone gasped.
"The cult has murdered the kids who were supposed to enroll with me, and their families as well. Including..."
They all didn't say anything, sadly listening as a tear fell from her face. "Including my family..."
Everyone else was shocked, utterly shocked. Leo felt a different kind of guilt pressing on his heart.
