Air Supplena had been your home ever since you were 30, you'd just escaped a horrible marriage and were kicked onto the streets. You thought you'd die alone until one day when a beautiful woman in a long red scarf approached you. She took pity on you and let you stay at her dark island home on one condition, you were to train under her.

She looked ever so slightly younger than you but you learned she was beyond the age she appeared to be and one day in passing she mentioned actually being older than you by a year or two.

"Must be the hamon, I have been practicing since I was young."

As to how she found her way to Venice, you didn't know and honestly you never asked. She never pried into your past. It was nice, a chance to live a peaceful life again.

For over a decade you trained, rain or shine she was there to teach you until you'd gained the title of master.

For a while it was just the two of you practicing for a few years when she brought in a new pupil, a young delinquent by the name of Caesar Zeppeli. The first day was relaxed and easy, nothing too strenuous and you decided to stay up a little later than normal. With a glass of wine in your hand you were returning to your room to enjoy it when there was a sound like...weeping? You followed the sound to Lisa lisa's door. Oh no something must be really wrong. You knocked out of courtesy. Putting your ear to the wall you heard a very faint voice.

"Come in"

The door creaked as you stepped in, despite living on the island for over a decade, you'd never been in here. You didn't immediately see her curled up underneath the covers, shivering to herself. You lifted back part of the fabric to find her peering back with wide, teary eyes, more terrified than you'd ever seen them. Kneeling down next to the bed you reached over to wipe the tears away. She couldn't find any words for a moment; then, croaking out in broken and strained syllables.

"I had a son, years ago, he can't be much younger than Caesar. I don't know if he's anything like him but whenever I look at that boy I see my son. How could have I abandoned him?" You held her close and let her head rest on your shoulder. Rubbing soothing circles into her back, you let her sobs subside as she continued to hold onto you. "I only wanted to keep him safe but wish I'd gotten to know him, I wish he'd gotten to have his parents around." She pulled away and brought herself up to sit up, patting the spot next to her. You sat on the bed next to her, she looked at you and sighed. "I even started to fall in love again... With you." You placed a hand on her cheek.

"Oh Lisa lisa, we've lived together so long, I've started to fall in love with you too. I don't even know when you stopped just being someone I simply looked up to to someone I admire." MOre tears spilled down her cheeks.

"I've spent so many years hiding how I feel all the time, I try to look strong but I've been broken for a long time. You don't deserve to have to deal with that." She wouldn't make eye contact saying that.

"And you don't have to go through it alone anymore; I'm here if you ever need me." She rubbed her eyes and yawned.

"Can we get some sleep then? I miss sharing a bed with someone."

You nodded.

It relieved to see her much more at peace snuggled up close to you, her body already going slack with sleep. You whispered one final goodnight before letting your heavy eyelids close.
