(Requested by NekoRussica. This was fun to write, it's the first request I've ever taken so I'm very, very sorry if this didn't end up how you wanted. It ended up longer than I expected but oh well.)

As the newest member to the party you had a little adjusting to do. Somebody higher up in the Speedwagon Foundation requested your presence to help with 'assuring safe passage'. Begrudgingly, you agreed to help and after a day or so of travel you were being introduced to each member of the team. That was a few weeks ago, and now you didn't know what to do. On the surface, everything was going fine. Everyone had finally made it to egypt in one piece and all you had to do now was get to Chiro. That did not mean that you didn't want to die on the spot every time the youngest of the Joestars so much looked at you.

Jotara Kujo was stunning, her striking sea green eyes that pierced through your soul, with an intimidating stature and evident strength. It was very clear that she was not just there to sit and look pretty. Despite how little time you'd spent together, you found yourself falling for her. In the beginning, you'd hoped that her very harshly honest personality would ward off any romantic feelings growing. As expected though, her demeanor only served to fuel the budding infatuation.

You watched as she rolled her neck, breathing heavily after a fight. As soon as you all finally arrived in egypt there would be an enemy stand user waiting for you to just walk by. The sun set on the scorching sand and cast everything in an orange glow. The long strands of hair that seamlessly flowed into her hat blew with the slight breeze. It was like a scene from the movies, and, if it were a movie you would've confessed your love for her. Instead of that, you just stood there admiring her until she spoke up.

"Everything alright there Y/N?" After being brought back to earth you fumbled for an answer.

"Yeah! Just admiring... the scenery." She didn't say anything as the two of you walked back to the others.

Luckily, there was a town nearby and by the time stars began to twinkle in the sky the eldest had made lodging arrangements for the night. The hotel was nowhere the nicest but it beat a sleeping bag. You dramatically slumped onto the bed, realizing something very quickly. There was only one bed. You internally cursed out the old man for not rooming you with somebody else. The bathroom light flicked off as Jotara stepped out, clad in simple sleepwear and her glossy black hair brushed out until smooth. She looked really pretty, just relaxed and casual. You snapped yourself out of staring through and hastily escaped to the bathroom for your own nightly routine.

When you opened the door, lights were out and you could see a vaguely Jotara-shaped lump on the bed. Climbing in, you made sure to stay as far away from her as was physically possible. There was no reason to make things more awkward than they already were. Seconds ticked past, minutes, at least half an hour before you gave up and sat on the edge of the bed. Damn your restless mind; couldn't you just get some rest for once?

The body on the other side of the bed stirred before groaning and sitting up as well.

"I'm guessing you can't sleep either?" You shook your head. She chuckled once, hollowly. "Well what are we to do now when we're both still wide awake?" You hummed in contemplation for a moment.

"What are you doing when this is all over? The trip, I mean."

"Go back to school I guess." She sighed. "Deal with all the annoying basterds trying to get me to date them again. Same as before all of this...mess. What are you going to do?" She looked at you in the moonlight and you wondered what she thought of you.

"Well, I guess I'll go back to the foundation. High school stopped really being an option when they learned I was a stand user." You leaned back on the headboard and stared up at the ceiling.

"That must be nice, not having to deal with the daily bullshit school throws at you." You turned to look back at her, the moonlight coming through the window highlighting her face in a way you could only describe as ethereal.

"It can't be all that bad, a horde of guys all lining up to date you, must be nice."

"It's not when you're not attracted to men." That stopped you in your proverbial tracks.

"So, you're..." She nodded and there was a fluttery feeling in your chest. Maybe you actually had a shot. "I am too, a-attracted to women that is." She smiled just a little bit.

"It's nice to meet somebody like myself. It gives me hope that I won't live alone for the rest of my life." You yawned, eyes growing heavy. "I won't let you die alone ok?"

"Alright." She chuckled, with more honesty behind it, warmer than indifferent ones you usually heard from her.

You laid down underneath the covers again. The world already began to slip away when you felt her strong arms pull you in close to her and you slung yours around her back with your fading wakefulness. Maybe she did like you back.

She was still awake as you stirred in the morning light. There wasn't much to see as your head had found place in the crook of her shoulder. You could feel her steady breaths, her lips brushing the crown of your head. You let yourself nuzzle a little closer into her the rumble of laugher from her startled you back.

"Comfey Y/N?" Her voice was slurred with sleep and it relieved you to know she wasn't angry. You nodded, going back to your prior positon.

You hadn't noticed how warm it was before. The sun was still rising in the sky and had yet to bake the land underneath it once more. At some point the two of you would have to get up but hopefully it would be a while before you ha-

"Rise and shine girls!" Of course, Mr. Joestar had to barge in. You separated from each other in a hurry. Jotara summoned star platinum.

"Get outta here old man, don't you have any sense of privacy?" You could hear him sprinting down the hall. Star dematerialized, she shit the door. "Good greif, let's get dressed."

The day was pretty uneventful, the sun beat down harshly but that was pretty average. You stared out the window of the car, watching as dunes moved past. Something cold nudged your arm. Jotara presented the beer to you, you took it, opened it and gulped down some of the bitter drink. She took it back and was about to take a swig from it.

"Wait." She stopped, lips hovering over the rim. "I just put my mouth on that." She looked at you blankly.

"So? We were literally cuddling this morning."

"That's different Jotara. Drinking from that is like kissing me." She leaned in closer to you her eyes half lidded.

"Well then." Voice rumbled in the air between you. Her hand was cupping your cheek. "May I?"

Your heart was beating fast and shakily, you answered.

"Yes."

It was quick but better than you'd ever thought it could be. Her lips were soft against yours. As she pulled away she took a long swig of the beer.

"I wanted to do that for a while now." Your heart was still racing.

"Me too." She let you lean on her as you passed the beer between yourselves and finally, the realization hit you.

'She likes me back.'
