Chapter 35
Date: July 29th
Location: Sicily, Italy
Time: 12:13 p.m.
Note to self: whenever you are planning on trying to find someone incredibly elusive again make sure that you can at least track them.
I had been in the city for a few weeks and so far no one has heard of Richard Caldwell. Hell it might be stupid to ask around for that man but I couldn’t think of a faster way to get his attention. Maybe if he hears someone asking for him he’ll get curious and want to know who, or at least that is what I’m hoping for.
I found one of those kiosks that sells just about everything and got a bottle of water and chugged half of it and tried thinking of where criminals would hide. Iris had the idea of hiding in plain sight but I doubt Richard was like that.
Speaking of Iris I was periodically checking her condition back at the hospital in Australia. She was doing well enough that they were able to transfer her to the Guardians infirmary but still in a coma. Considering that Levi hadn’t attacked the base yet he was still lying in wait in hopes that she would lead him to Valentin.
As for me no one attempted to kill me just yet.
I sat down on one of the benches wishing I could take in more of the sights of the beautiful lands or architecture. No instead I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off to find a man that could be dead.
My phone started ringing and the i.d said it was Kyle who was still mad at me but was willing to help me even though he hadn't found anything so far either.
“Hello?” I tried shielding the bright sun out of my eyes.
“Are you messing with me?” He asked instead.
“What?”
“Messing with me, I mean is this some type of joke?”
“You are going to have to give me more information than that.” I sighed and wiped the sweat off of my forehead.
“Jewel Davis.” He stated.
“Oh yeah did you find any information on her?” I would have been able to find information on her quicker but I was preoccupied with the whole trying find Richard thing.
“You are her!” He yelled and I flinched away from the phone.
“What?” I was now thoroughly confused.
“Jewel Davis was one of your personas a couple years ago, when you were interviewing Maxwell Tate, the new head of Jethro Inc.”
Now the memories came back. Jewel Davis was the ‘Seductress’ and I had to wear fake boobs and put on fake hair to seduce a creepy old man in order to get information on him to see if he was working for Lockstar. Unfortunately we didn’t get any information about him and Lockstar but I still held all the dirt from him when I downloaded the previous information.
“Wow I’m a dumbass.”
“You think?” He asked and I heard him sigh on the other end. “Why did you need the information again?”
“Because the Reapers are probably holding Valentin, my friends and my family hostage and they want her.”
“Why?” He asked.
“If I knew that things would be a lot easier wouldn’t it?!” I yelled and got a few curious looks. “I just don’t know what to do.”
“You and me both.”
