✏︎HALLOWEEN BLESSING:
The party wasn't wild wild, but it was fun enough for a halloween party. It was more of a get together than a party. Everybody knew at least a few people. However, I wasn't the party type. I mean, I know this isn't your typical frat party or club, but anything that involved more than ten people that I didn't know, made me miss the comfort of my apartment. My friends had forced me to go out because I had just gotten out of a bad relationship, and the break up was as bad. I wasn't specifically affected by it, but my ex did not leave me alone.
So here I am, sitting alone at the bar trying to enjoy my halloween special drink. I turn around on the high chair to scan the room, I couldn't see my friends anywhere. I sigh an turn back.
"You ok?" I look up and I see the bartender giving me a genuine worried look.
"I guess? I can't see my friends."
"Can you text them?"
"I will when I want to leave. Which actually would be now but.."
"But?" I look at him hesitantly. He was drop dead gorgeous by the way. His brown hair split in the middle, his bangs lightly covering his eyes. Even under his disguise which was kinda scary, I could tell he was just really attractive. "Don't worry, as a bartender I hear all sorts of story. So go ahead, it's a free ticket to vent without being judged." I scoff at his statement. He probably realized I was hesitant and trying to analyze him.
"I just got out of a bad relationship."
"I'm sorry.."
"It's fine, it's good riddance but.. The real problem is he doesn't want to leave me alone now." I pull up my phone. "56 missed calls, 124 messages."
"Wow, you could report him for that."
"I know but.. I'm just hoping to give it a few days. If not I guess I'll have to take action."
"That's never fun, I also had a crazy ex."
"Understandable." I scoff then realize what I said out loud.
"What does that mean."
"Ahh, I didn't mean to say that. It's just.. I mean, ugh, I'm so sorry, no crazy ex is understandable it's really no fun."
"Mkay~" He says with a playful smile on his lips almost showing his teeth for the first time tonight. Which makes me curious, I want to see him smile. Giving his reaction to what I hinted at, I know the perfect thing to say.
"You're really pretty is what I meant by that, plus.. to listen to random people about their issues, you must be pretty selfless and caring. So I guess that's what I meant by 'understandable' that she didn't want to let you go.." I try saying without blushing. I never blushed easily but with alcohol in my system, it sure didn't help. He first looks at me with surprised eyes but then there it was, a full on playful smile. He even lightly stuck his tongue between his teeth, and when he couldn't contain it anymore, he started laughing embarrassed.
