He put his arm around her. "I'm sorry" he whispered.
"It's oka-"

"What's the latest on Radley Blake?" Chris pops her head through the door.

I close the book and leave my reading nook.
"He has a full-on movie theatre in the basement of his luxurious mansion." I answer. "And, drum roll... He's got a private Jet." I smirk. Well aware of what exactly her next reaction would be.

Chris has been my best friend forever. Through all ups and downs, she's been with me, by my side.
When she lost both her parents and nonna, her granny, in a tragic car accident, she was left alone with her elder brother.
That's where my family comes in.
For the past ten years, we've all lived together like one big happy family.
With my little sister, Vee, and Chris's elder brother, Jonah, we are technically four siblings. With two amazing parents and a sweet gramps.

"I wanna marry that dude." Chris says, all dreamy.

"And yet, all you ever ask me is about his finances. Barely about the man himself. It's called "Acts of love" for a reason Chris!" I point out, as I push her out of the room.
We share a room.

We head downstairs to have breakfast.
An everyday tradition.
Mom would make us one of her extravagant dishes, dad would work in the garden with Jonah. Vee would dance around the house like a little bee. She is 14, but she could always act like a kid.
She also joins us in helping mom with cooking, cleaning and whatever the housework there is to be done.

"It smells good in here!!!" Jonah exclaims, grinning like an idiot.

Growing up, we had to put up with all the girls that had a thang for him. Apparently girls LOVE him.
Understandable given his appearance and his personality. None of those girls ever seemed to get a chance though. He was always too focused on his education and this family of ours, to spend any time on dating at all.

He walks to the kitchen and reaches for a piece of fruit.

"Wash your hands dork!" I give him a nudge.

"Why do I pay attention to what my three little sisters have got to say all the time?!" he throws both his hands up in question.

We can't help but laugh at this. For does he not always do as we say.

"Alright kids, get these on the table now." mom hands us the dishes.

Dad and Vee had already arranged the dining table. It was definitely very important that we always had an elegant, presentable dining table.

"Jo, the milk!" Chris screams.

"On the way!" Jonah replies.

Mom takes off her apron by the counter, neatly folding it and heading toward the old school radio, to put on some music.

And this, is the daily breakfast routine.

Our mom is a housewife who LOVES baking. Vee is a friendly, cheerful soul, who goes to highschool. Our dad is an architect, and Jonah is a senior in college. As for Chris and myself, we are both 18 and graduated.
Prepared for the college intake.

We take our seats on the table and settle down for breakfast.
The delicious smell of the cheese omelettes, had filled the entire kitchen.
Bringing out a hunger in me, that didn't even exist a few minutes ago.

Today, we've got fruit, toast, omelettes and milk for breakfast. Along with sauce, jam and butter to choose from.

The rest of the meal goes on with chatter and laughter.
Like a perfect little family.

Not that little.
