I run through the wall between platform 9 and 10 and suddenly I'm on platform 9¾. It's very crowded and I try to find a way through all these people saying goodbye to their kids. It made me think of my own parents. How they told me they couldn't come. I'm only eleven and finding my way here wasn't exactly easy.

I walked towards the train and got in. It was massive. When I found myself an empty compartment, I placed my trunk on the ground and sat down. Then I started thinking about the sorting ceremony, it had bothered me since I got my acceptance letter. My mom is a Hufflepuff and my dad is Ravenclaw, but I could literally get in every house. My dad's a muggle, but mom and I sorted him. I'm not sure in which house I want to get. It also doesn't really matter to me. With no friends or people I know there it doesn't matter at all. I'm just hoping I can make my parents proud. Then all of a sudden the compartment opened. A girl with long messy hair walked in.

"Hi, I'm Hermione Granger." She reached out her hand to me.

As I shaked her hand I told her my name "Jade Wendall."

She placed her trunk next to mine and sat down opposite me. "Are you excited? You know, for the sorting ceremony." I opened my mouth when she continued; "I hope I get into Ravenclaw."

This time I waited a little before responding but then started talking. "I'm kind of excited but still not sure in which house I'll get."

She stared at me for quite a while. To break the awkward moment I grabbed my book and started reading. Hermione grabbed a book as well but clearly wasn't done talking.

"Which book are you reading?"

"This? Uh, it's fantasy." I responded, while looking up from my book.

"Fun, I'm reading Hogwarts, A History."

Then we had some more conversations and as we rode through mountains and forests, I started to hope I'd get into Ravenclaw as well.

After some time she stood up "If I were you, I would put on my robes. We're almost there."

As we got out I saw a big man standing on the platform. He brought us to the boats and in the bright light of the moon we floated across the dark lake. The castle in front of us is getting bigger as we go on and the moon gave a nice lighting, almost like a spotlight. Off to Hogwarts...
