SUMMER
"Good morning!", bati ko pagbaba ko ng hagdan. I don't know why I'm happy. Maybe I just woke up on the ride side of my bed?
Nakita ko si Derrick na nakaupo sa sofa at nanunuod ng t.v.
"Good Morning Derrick!",I greeted him as soon na makalapit ako.
"Tss.. Ang ingay! Ang aga aga eh!",he shouted
Tsk! Epal talaga!
"Psh. Why don't you greet me nalang din,diba? Much better kesa nakabusangot ka jan!",I said
"Tss..",sabi niya lang at nanuod ulit ng t.v.
Gosh! He's so insensitive! Okay.. Calm down Summer, calm down.. Don't let that guy ruin your beautiful morning.
Tumayo na ko and headed to the door.
"Oh? San ka pupunta?",he asked
"Away from you!",I shouted
But I'm not really going away. I'll just get some fresh air here in their garden. Tita Gillie has interest in flowers kaya ang ganda ng facade ng bahay nila.
I picked one flower which is daisy, then I put it behind my ear. I wonder if it fits me well. Oh.. ofcourse any flower will complement me. I'm pretty after all.
I hummed while roaming in their garden. Uh.. I think this day is gonna be good.
"Taho! Taho~"
I heard someone is shouting outside so I walk towards the gate to know who it is.
"Taho~ Taho~"
I think my eyes twinkled when I saw what is outside. It's taho! I miss eating that!
I immediately go out and headed to the vendor.
"How much is that, Manong?",I asked
"Sampung piso po yung maliit at bente yung malaki.",he said
Uhm.. what will I choose? Ah.. I'll just buy the big one. Wait.. bente is twenty, right?
"Uhm.. Yung malaki nalang po.", I said then get some money from my pocket. Good thing I brought some before I went out of my room.
After lagyan ni Manong ng takip at straw yung taho ay binigay niya na sakin at inabot ko na rin yung bayad. "Thank you po.",I said
I took a sip and my gosh! It is really delicious and unfortunately, wala nito sa Texas. I took another sip.
Since wala namang magawa sa bahay, I'll just walk around the neighborhood nalang muna.
Buti di masyadong mainit ngayon at medyo mahangin. Looks like the weather is on my side.
I realized that I was already in the playground when I heard a child shouting.
"Ang daya mo talaga!",a little girl said then cried.
"Hala.. Joke lang naman eh.",sabi naman nung little guy at tinabihan siya. Looks like hindi niya alam kung anong gagawin niya.
But what he did next surprised me. He kissed the little girl's cheek. Aww. They look so cute!
"Sorry na..",sabi niya pagkatapos. Tumigil narin sa pag-iyak si little girl.
Hayy.. I feel nostalgic. It's the same playground where I first saw Derrick.
