7- encounter

you woke up, confused. your book was placed beside your bed. "Hange? Levi?" you said to yourself. you got up and changed into a fresh new uniform.

you fixed your hair into a low ponytail. you then lazily fix your bed. you walked out of your bedroom, then seeing a bunch of other cadets in the hallway.

they seem that they were on their way to breakfast as well. you took a seat in the corner, and harshly ate your bread. you always found it unsettling every single time in the beginning of missions.

you put your head down on the table, as you heard a bang on the table. "Y/N!" a familiar voice said. "what." "DID YOU GET ENOUGH SLEEP?" "yes." "WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE THIS THEN?"

"hanji, be a little more quiet, please." "oh yeah, sorry!" she whispered. "what's wrong?"

"you know, the beginning of missions make me sick." "oh y/n, it'll be fine. your with Levi anyways, he's a superior!" "yeah, you are right."

"Oi, four eyes, stop screaming." Levi said sitting down next to her. "Yeah, sorry Captain!" he nods as he notices you fidgeting with your fingers. "y/n, what the hell are you doing?"

"I'm nervous dumbass." he let out a soft chuckle. "so is that a hint for me to help you out on today's mission?"

you banged your fist on the table. "no! I don't need your help!" "Mmh hmm." he responds.

you were all lined up with your horses. you pet your horses mane, as you gripped the reins tightly. you were starting to doze off, as you heard a voice.

"look, there they are!" you turned your head to see 2 kids together. you took a closer look and listened in. "I wish I was in the survey corps, they seem so cool.

but my mom told me to never go there because that's how I lost my dad." you felt a connection between the kid's story.

you looked at the children, as they stared back at you. you took your hood off as you noticed. one was your little sister, Marcell.

she noticed you straight away too. "Hange, do you think it'll be okay if I get off my horse?" "yeah it should be, the gates are going to take a long time to rise anywa-" you jumped off your horse.

you squished yourself through the crowd, desperately trying to seek your sister. your sister had started to come to you too.

at once, 7 feet away, stood the sisters. you crouched down as she ran to you. you tried holding your tears in, because you didn't want to look weak, but that failed too quick.

tears streamed down from your eyes. she wrapped her little arms around your body. you placed your hands behind her back, as you rubbed it.

"I never thought I would see you again!" she said crying. you sobbed quietly, as you took her small face. "how old are you now, Marcell?"

"eight years old." "wow, your growing so big now." she smiled wide as you teared up again. "I really miss you being at home."

"you live somewhere else, don't you?" "yeah, we live near here now." she cried. "please, come visit me." the memories came back into your head, your mom running away from you.

"I don't think mom would like that." "how do you know?" your heart was crushed. she even told your little sister.

You didn't want to know what she had said about you, because it would hurt you more. "I just had a feeling." "Can you try to just visit me? I miss you."

You giggled, "if mom doesn't find out." she nodded as you felt a broad hand on your shoulder. you turned your head around, forgetting you had cried an insane amount.

"y/n, gates are going up soon." Levi said staring at you. you kissed you little sisters head as she waved. "I'll visit you, someday."

"okay, be safe." you and Levi walked through the crowd, as you pulled your hood over your head. "hey your back!" Hange said.

"yeah, just saw someone I knew." "really, who was it?" "I'll tell you later." the huge bell rings, as you start to tense up. "We've driven away all the Titans in the area. Thirty seconds until we own the gate!"

you clench the rein, tighter than before, as you look at Hange in front of you. "Humanity will take another step forward. Show me what you can do!" a comrade says.

people are now putting their fist in the air, cheering. "Open the gate!" the gate slowly rises, hearing every creak of a sound it makes.

"ADVANCE!" Erwin yells. Everyone starts moving forward, making their moves faster. "We will now begin the 57th expedition beyond the walls!"

You turn behind you, to see all the newer cadets. "ONWARD!" The commander then put his arm out, we then went into our formation we were told to get in.

Luckily, you was with your squad. you somewhat felt determined already.
