The crisp, fall air softly brushed her long, dark hair as she stumbled towards his grave. Her alert pale green eyes reflected the pale glow of the moon as it danced behind the shadows. Trembling, she neared the grave and wiped the dust with her pale, bony fingers and read the inscription on the plate, her lips moving silently with the words.

Here lies Patrick Cooper (1 February 1994 – 13 March 2020)

Beloved son of Ben Cooper and Pamela Cooper

If you love something truly, learn to let it go.

A strangled cry escaped her lips as she fell to the ground, helpless. Her body shook, consumed with overwhelming grief and sobs. Her weak arms covered her face as she let out a blood curling scream whilst trembling with grief. She crawled towards the grave and gave an involuntary shudder as her thoughts wandered to the last conversation they had.

"Jules, you need to understand. After this, everything would be just as the way it was." Patrick pleaded. She faced him, her eyes puffy from the crying.

"You still believe that Patrick?" Julie yelled, swallowing the lump in her throat as angry tears threatened to spill down.

His eyes shone with tears but he met her gaze with determination.

"Oh my god, Patrick. You still do. You still believe that after this, everything will be just like it was before." She whispered with absolute horror.

"Jules, please just let me-"

She cornered him, her pale green eyes filled with rage.

"You know what the problem is, Patrick?" She asked her voice barely above a whisper.

"You always try to make things perfect for others. But look at you Patrick. What are you from the inside huh? A dead man. Broken. A man who doesn't know how to deal with his emotions, a man who doesn't know how to deal with his sister's death. A man who doesn't how how to deal with his parent's murders. And yet he goes on, trying to be someone who's not him. Trying to make people happy. But the question is, Are you happy Patrick? No, you'll never be because you just never tried." She screamed at him as he broke.

"We will never be the same again, Patrick. Our family is broken. It's dead and so are you."

The next thing she heard from her husband?

A suicide note.
