Having worked in the ice cream shop nearly all his life, Charlie had seen a bit of everything. A teenage boy wearing a cowboy hat and spurs, however, might just top everything. "I'm Billy," he said and stopped right in front of the middle-aged man. He eyed the boy in amusement, "You got a horse out front or something?"
Billy scowled, "My mamma wouldn't let me bring 'er." Charlie barely kept himself from snorting out loud and settled for humming in response. Billy took that as a go ahead and kept talking, "I'm looking for a job here."
Charlie groaned in a way that clearly expressed his hate for this situation. "Loose the outfit and we'll talk."
"No! Removing outfit is removing part of me." Charlie severely doubted that, "You're just an angsty teen."
Billy's face suddenly got completely red as he clenched his jaw together. "And you're just a lowlife and an old man!" The teen clenched his fist together and slammed it into the viewing glass of the ice cream stand. The pain registered before the lack of damage did as Billy quickly pulled his fist close, cradling it against his body. This time Charlie didn't hold his amused smile back, "Run home, kid."
