"What's the last day you remember?"
"12th of the May."
"Good." Something bad happened.
Every time something bad happened, Ivy woke up with Arnold asking her the last date she remembers and with no memory of the last 2 days because of something bad that happened.
Ivy could understand why, but she hated that this is what he had to do. Deleting her memory seemed too much to her. It almost annoyed her.
Of course she wouldn't dare say it to anyone. Humans had a weird fear of robots taking over their planet, so she knew better than risk scaring them.
Ivy got off of the examination table. She dressed up while Arnold wrote some things on a small notebook.
She wanted to go back to her apartment. To her cat, Mesh. Ivy knew that Mesh could take care of himself, that's why she was allowed to keep him, but she just misses him.
"You have to go to work in 2 hours."
"Can I first go home?"
"Don't be late. We have important things to take care of and I want you by my side."
Ivy nodded and rushed to her place, hoping Mesh was still there.
Her clothing always inconvenienced her, due to the fact that she had to hide a lot of things, so Arnold made her wear a lot of clothes. Thick things that made it hard to move.
It was summer. Ivy was wearing a coat.
People were giving her stares. It didn't bother her, but she shouldn't draw attention.
When she got back to the lab so she could start work, Arnold wasn't there. Ivy isn't going to lie, the lab felt a little strange without Arnold there to be quiet and ignore her. Now it was quiet because she was the only one there.
His notebook was open on the table.
She knew she shouldn't. She did anyway.
"Ivy, what are you doing?"
Ivy turned around, only to see Arnold by the door.
"I think you have functioning eyes."
"My God, Ivy..." Then Ivy heard a beep, and everything turned black again. "What's the last day you remember?"
"11th of the May."
That was a lie.
