Wait until night

Chapter 7

Reagan

I was in slater's room for the first time, I had acted super stupid that night and now I was looking around, Augest said that Slater was on his way right now coming to say something to me, I had expected him to be there in an instant because he can run fast. But he was taking his sweet time.

Augest might have been wrong, but when is she telling the future wrong. But I don't know, I am not in the family so I wouldn't know. I looked at all the pictures in his room, lots of them were of me, but most of them were just of nature or his family. I was looking at his stuff when I heard him laughing. I looked to see him coming up the stairs with his younger sister Lydia (who he didn't like before.) I wondered what had happened.

He saw me in his room and took Lydia off his shoulders. She ran to go talk to Augest. He looked at me for a few seconds before I just ran up and hugged him tears streaming down my face. I could feel him relax.

"I am so sorry, I didn't think and I just needed some time and I was selfish and dumb and was only thinking about mself, I didn't think about you, like how hard it must have been on you to tell me, hoping I wouldn't break your heart, an-" I started. But he interrupted me with a kiss. A long nice kiss. I kissed him back.

"No I am sorry." He said after a little while.

"For what!" I exclaimed.

"I just have been lame, and the way I acted that night was super dumb, I blocked you and..." He began.

"No I shouldn't have lied about being a werewolf, I know you hate them." I said.

"I love you." He said.

"I love you too." I replied smiling. He leaned in for another kiss. I kissed him back, until I heard a click and his mom laughing.

"You two are so cute!" she said.

"Yeah a vampire and a girl." I said. She looked scared for a second.

"She knows, I told her." Slater said. She sighed and started laughing showing us the picture she took. We laughed hard enough that made Lydia and Augest come and see what we were laughing about. They laughed along too and I looked out the window and saw him. Jake and a few other people, they were just standing there watching us, Jake saw me looking at them and they all ran off. That got me wondering, who else are vampires in this town, I wonder if more than half are all vampires or if there's only one family.

"Hey are there more Vampires in this town?" I asked.

"Yeah there are three more families, My friend Dawn, and her family, and then there's her boyfriend's family and then there are the Hunt family, they are the only vampires that live here that still drink human blood, or still thirst for it. They don't care about humans at all, they just are stupid." said Augest.

"What are we talking about!?" said nessie coming up the stairs.

"Nessie!" shouted Slater's mother.

"Hey mom." she greeted her. Kissing her on the cheek smiling. Then she saw me.

"Why is there a human in here?" she asked, looking like she was about to attack me.

"I love her." said Slater stepping in front of me.

"Slater," she greeted him.

"Another human amongst us." she said, rolling her eyes.

"Was there another human here before?" I asked.

"Yeah, a burglar, once, but Augest killed him, that was three years ago." Nessie said.

"Really?" I asked, I didn't know how she killed him and I didn't really want to know but...

"Yeah, three years ago, was I... when I," she began blushing.

"She still drank human blood. She couldn't resist it, that's why she can't control herself around lots of blood." Slater explained.

"I used to be a monster." She whispered.

"No, you were not a monster. None of us are monsters." said Slater's dad Edward.

"Yeah but I used to- '' began Augest.

"YOU AREN'T ANYMORE THOUGH!" Nessie yelled.

"No need to yell Ness!" Slater said, trying to calm her down.

"Slater you have grown up so much since the last time I saw you!" Nessie said as she patted his head.

"Don't pat my HEAD!" Slater said, starting to get angry.

I chuckled. Then Nessie walked over to me and whispered, "He's still a angry guy though!" We both laughed at this. Slater looked at me like I was a traitor then smiled. My phone started ringing. It was my dad. Oh shoot! I didn't tell him where I was going. I should have! He always stresses being a single parent and everything. I picked it up.

"Hey Dad!" I said.

"WHERE ARE YOU?! YOU DIDN'T TELL ME YOU WERE LEAVING!!!" He sounded really worried and angry over the phone.

"Okay I'll come home now." He hung up on me.

I gave Slater a kiss, then hugged August and ran out of the door. I ran to my car, then I heard August's voice from Slater's room's window.

"REAGAN! I'LL COME OVER LATER TONIGHT FOR OUR GIRL MOVIE NIGHT!!!"

"OKAY!!!" I yelled back, then drove off.

When I got home, my dad was on the porch folding his arms. He looked pissed!

"Where were you, young lady!? Axel and Rashae were waiting for you to take them shopping." He asked.

I totally forgot I was supposed to take my little sibling to the mall! "I was at August's house... we were discussing what movie we should watch tonight. But I can take them right now." I lied about the movie thing but I will take them... I guess.

"Okay... but next time tell me where you are. And I'll give you money for them."

I nodded. Then we both walked inside. Rashae and Axel were in the entrance of the house with a sad but mad expression.

"Reagan. You forgot about us!" Rashae was about to cry. I know that she's 12 years old and some teenagers would think it was weird that a 12 year old would cry over something like this, but I love her a lot and I hate breaking my promises.

"I know Shae, I'm sorry. But we can go now, if you guys still want to."

"Isn't your party about to start?" Axel said, folding his arms and looking at the ground with a mad expression.

"Axel," I started, "my friends can wait! I'm taking you guys shopping!"

He looked up at me with excitement! I love him so much! He's the cutest 8 year old I think I've ever seen. Honestly if he was my age and we weren't related, I would want to date him. HAHAHA, I know, that sounds weird but he is so so so cute!

My car is a baby blue with baby blue rims on the tires. I know, very Californian of me! I love Malibu! It's super pretty and my car fits in perfectly. Rashae and Axel told me I should get this car so I got it. And they love it almost as much as I do!
