apology

I stood in the living room looking at the door. "Jason, what the hell do you want?" Leo asked angrily. Jason put his hands up, as if he meant no harm. "Look, I just wanted to apologize to Maya, and I just wanted to talk to her for a minute." He said as looked from Leo and to me. I just stood there glaring, I didnt wanna talk to him. I have no idea what he could possibly even do next. Leo stood firmly in front of the door. "She doesnt wanna talk to you." He said while glaring. "Listen, I know you guys dont like me, and that's fine. But I would really like to just talk to her for a second." He said. It was weird, he honestly seemed kind of genuine. But if I'm being honest, I was scared of him. Leo stared at him intensely before sighing. "Fine." He said while stepping out of the way to let Jason in. Jason walked into the living room to me while sighing. "Maya, I'm really sorry about everything I've done. I guess I was just upset you wouldnt talk to me and then when I saw you with Leo, I dont know. I guess you could say I was jealous." He said. I nodded not really knowing what to say. Leo was just sitting in the chair listening. "Listen. I'm really sorry about everything. And I dont expect you to forgive me. But I would hope you'll be able to one day." He said. I kinda stood there speechless not knowing what to say. I finally spoke up. "Okay. Is that all you wanted to say?" I asked. I wasn't trying to exactly be mean, but I really did not know what else to say. Jason sighed and nodded while standing up and walking to the door. Leo walked with him. Jason opened the door and turned around towards me and Leo, "I'm sorry." He said before turning and walking out. I sighed while sitting down, thank god that's over. Leo came and sat down next to me while studying my face. "You okay?" He asked. I gave a weak smile, "yeah I'm alright. Just confused. I mean why would he apologize after all he did." I said. I felt Leo's hand slowly reach for mine and our fingers intertwined. I laid my head on his shoulder and sighed. "I dont know why he apologized either. But let's not worry about it right now. Wanna watch a movie?" Leo asked. I slightly smiled up at him. "Sure" I said. Leo put a movie in and sat back down wrapping his arm around me. I slowly felt myself falling asleep in his arms.

I woke up as the shined through the windows. I looked at my phone checking the time: 10:30am. I looked around realizing I was in Leo's house when my eyes landed on a piece of paper on the table. It was a note

Be back in a little bit, I love you

I smiled slightly and got up to get a drink from the fridge. It was so wierd, I'm with Leo a lot, and his mom is almost never home lately. Its like Leo has his own house, but it's like that for me too. Me and Leo have a lot in common now that I think  about it. My phone vibrated and I quickly looked at it thinking it was Leo. But it wasn't.

Jason: Hey. I know you may not trust me. But please meet me at the cafe down the street at 11:30.

What could he possibly want now. I shook my head, I dont know if I should.

Me: fine

I slowly sent the message and thought about it for a little longer. Was this gonna be a mistake? What if he tries something, Leo wont even be there. I got ready and left the house at 11:15, leaving Leo a note saying I'd be back soon if he gets home before me. I walked down to the cafe and thought about it for a minute before slowly opening the door and walking in. Why was I doing this? I mean after everything Jason did, I still agree to meet him somewhere? I must be dumb. I spotted Jason and walked over to the table while sitting across from him. Jason looked shocked. I gave him a wierd look. "What?" I asked. "Nothing, I just didnt think you'd actually show up." He said shaking his head. "Yeah, I didnt think I would either." I mumbled. The waitress came over to us and asked what we wanted. I said a simple hot cappuccino. Jason said he didnt want anything. I gave him a wierd look, "if you didnt want anything why'd you ask to meet me here?" I asked. "I just wanted to talk to you somewhere I thought you'd be more comfortable." He said. I raised an eyebrow at him. "Why are you being so nice to me?" I asked in a confused tone. "Why cant I be nice?" He asked with a smirk. I rolled my eyes. "Look Maya. I know that I hurt you really bad, but I would really like to start over. Maybe we can be friends?" He asked. I kinda looked down not knowing whether I should accept or not. "I dont know." I said while still looking down. He leaned back in his seat. "Alright, that's fine. I completely understand. Take all the time you need to think." He said. The waitress came and gave my my cappuccino. I thanked her and lightly sipped it. The rest of the time was okay, but I couldn't help but feel tense. Jason kept insisting he should walk me home, but kept denying. He finally gave up and we said goodbye. I definitely needed time to think, I didnt know if I could trust him anymore. I dont know if I wanna stay friends with him. I finally got to Leo's house and walked in while taking my shoes off at the door. I called out to Leo and he came around the corner from the kitchen. That's when I noticed the table in the dining room. It had candles on it and two plates with two wine glasses next to them. I smiled while looking at him. "What is this?" I asked. He smiled. "Its a date." He said while holding out his hand. I put my hand in his and he led me to my chair. We sat down and started eating and talking. After we finished eating and were just sitting there I started thinking about if I should tell him about the meet with Jason. I figured I had to. I looked at him, "Leo.." suddenly his lips were on mine. I wanted to stay like this but I knew I had to tell him. I used all my strength to push him off slightly, "I need to tell you something." I said. Leo looked at me and smirked. "Okay, anything baby." He said. Wow, it's different hearing him call me baby. I paused, "well..." I started. "I met with Jason today. He asked to meet me at a cafe and he told me he wanted to be friends." I said. Leo looked kinds tense. "Are you gonna accept?" He asked. I shrugged and sighed, "I dont know. I need to think you know." I said. Leo nodded. Suddenly my phone vibrated. It was Justin asking me to come home.
