Phone call

I felt my heart break as I ran after Leo screaming his name. I started to catch up to him and he finally stopped. I stopped beside him out of breath. "Leo, p-please. I didn't kiss him I swear." I said trying to catch my breath. Leo stood there with a blank stare and tears in his eyes. I felt tears go down my cheeks and my hands were numb from the cold breeze. "What happened back there then?" Leo said suddenly. I looked up surprised. "What?" I asked. "If you didn't kiss him then what did I see?" He asked with a crack in his voice. "He kissed me. I swear I had nothing to do with it Leo. I tried to push him away sooner but he force was too much." I said. Leo looked down as more tears fell from his eyes. "Why were you even here? Why did you guys meet up, especially this late?" He asked as his jaw tensed. I sighed and put my face in my hands. "Leo I don't know. He texted me saying he wanted to meet to talk about something important. I didn't know he would do this. I didn't even want to meet him, but he pushed me to." I said feeling more tears form in my eyes. "I'm sorry." I said as I felt like screaming. Leo just stood there in silence. I could feel the lump in my throat getting bigger as I bursted into tears. I turned away from Leo and hid my face in embarrassment. I felt someone grab my arm as I turned and Leo wrapped his arms around me. "C'mon, don't cry Maya." He said while rubbing my back as I just hid my face in his chest. "So he kissed you?" He asked. I nodded. "Yes I swear. Are you mad at me?" I asked looking up at him. He shook his head while looking at me. "No baby. I'm not mad.. at you anyways." He said referring to Jason. I felt relief hit when I realized he believed me. I looked in his eyes, he looks so hurt. I buried my face back into his chest. I felt him tighten his grip around me, and I finally felt safe again. We just stood there in each other's embrace before Leo finally broke the silence. "Maya?" He said quietly. "Hmm" I replied, my face still buried in his chest. "If you go out again, and it's past midnight. Please tell me, okay?" He asked gently. I nodded and felt him kiss my head. I finally backed up. "You ready to go back to the house?" I asked. He nodded and we walked back home and slowly fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning to the sun blinding me. I covered my eyes and turned to feel for Leo, but he wasn't there. Wierd, I usually wake up before him. I got out of bed and called out Leo's name, though I didn't get a response. I rubbed my eyes and walked into the hall near the bathroom but stopped when I heard Leo's voice. I stood at the door, I couldn't help but listen. "I've already told you I can't talk about this right now. This isn't a good place to talk. No, I haven't told her." He said in a whisper almost. My heart dropped, what could he be talking about?? I tried to move a little closer to hear better but I accidentally bumped the door. Leo jumped and looked at me in shock. "I've gotta go." He said before turning his phone off. He looked at me, "hey babe, how long you been standing there?" He asked a little shaky. I shrugged trying to pretend I didn't hear what I heard. "Not that long." I responded. A look of relief came over him. "okay, it was just my dad, talking about some school stuff. Not important." He said shrugging. I nodded. "You're dad? You don't really talk about him much." I said kinda surprised. "Yeah, well I don't see him much so there's not much to talk about." He trailed off before smiling. "you wanna go get breakfast? We still have some time before school." He said gesturing towards the time on the clock. I paused and the nodded. "Yeah sure, that's sounds nice." I smiled. He wrapped his arm around me and gently licked his lips against mine. I felt some of my worries fade away, but I still couldn't stop thinking about what he said. "No I haven't told her"... What could he have meant. I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Leo. "Hey, maya, you okay?" I looked at him suddenly. "Huh, yeah. Yeah I'm fine." I say smiling. He sorts chuckled and moved a piece of my hair out of my face. I melted into his touch. "Well let's get ready huh?" He said before leading me into the bedroom to get dressed. I found myself slowly forgetting about the Phone call.
