My grandmother, a beautiful woman, full Veela, and more of a mother to me than the one who had actually conceived me.
I carefully took the letter from the owl who had brought it to me and then carefully handed her a treat for her to consume while I read the letter and wrote back.
My dearest Belle,
Of course you may come and stay with me, you are always welcomed in my little apartment here up in Paris, you know you always will be. Don't worry about your mother, she's just being moody and turning something into more than it is. Hopefully one day you will know why but that is for her to tell you not I, anyways pardon my stray from the other topic you discussed in your letter, Beauxbatons. I cannot believe you haven't even gotten your wand yet! This is such a monumental time in every young witches life and I simply cannot believe that you haven't received yours. Not to mention all of the other necessities that are required for your first year at Beauxbatons. I will arrive in a days time. Please have all of your belongings ready and in your trunk before I arrive.
With all my love,
Grand-Mere Odette
I smiled to myself as I finished my grandmother's letter, quickly patting the owl on the head signaling it to leave. I ran up to my room and began shoving all of my belongings into my baby blue trunk. My father had already placed an undetectable charm on it to be able fit anything and everything I need it to, but I forgot what it was called. As I finished packing, I began to put on my night clothes and long, brown hair into a braid. Once ready for bed, I threw myself onto my silk sheets too excited to rest.
'tomorrow is going to be a better day, I know it' was the last thing to go through my mind before I entered a state that nobody knows they entered until they come out of it
I woke up the next morning to a small pecking against my window. Groggily, I got up and immediately hissed from the bright light of the morning coming through my window. As every step felt like a hundred, I finally reached my window.
My eyes widened as I saw who it was
"Mon-Chere!!" I screamed as I opened my window
"My sweet Belle, my how you have grown" the words rolled off her tongue and made their way to my ears causing me to smile
She held her hands to both of my shoulders while her blue eyes looked me up and down. I shifted under her gaze, not because I was scared of her, but because of the fact that I was very self conscious around other Veela's, whether they were family or not, Fleur made sure of it.
"Well, let's not waste time! We have to get your wand, all of your other school supplies and most importantly get you away from here!" She laughed as she said the last part
I grinned, jumping up and down while making my way over to my trunk ready to leave.
My grandmother levitated my trunk behind us as she flew us on her broom all the way to Paris.
After a long, and when I say long, I mean longer then any time frame you could imagine, fly over to Paris, we had finally made it to the small, but all around charming apartment, that sat only a couple of blocks away from the Eifel Tower.
"I know it is not the biggest house in the world, but it is home" My grandmother said as she led me to my room
I was in awe to see that the Eifel Tower sat outside my window, it was so close it was like I could touch it. I stared out my window as my grandmother began to unpack my clothes for me. Once I registered her actions I dismissed her telling her she didn't need to do that.
"Nonsense, famille or not, you are still my guest" she stated, continuing to place my clothes in the empty drawers and also in the seemingly empty wardrobe.
"Thank you Mon-Chere, you have no idea how much this means to me" I said walking up to her, my arms open wide, asking for a hug
She took my offer gladly and pulled me in close to her, she pulled back to study my face once more, and began to wipe away the tears that made their way onto my face
"You are my granddaughter, my favorite one at that, and I hope you know I will do anything to protect you my sweet little Bella." she spoke in a nurturing tone, while she again pulled me into another, long, warm, hug
