Time felt like it passed differently in Mystic Falls, Virginia - it moved slowly at a snails pace. The reason could be attributed to serveral things, one being the fact that it was Sif's homeland as a human, or it could be the fact that it was a honing beacon for young vampires who had arrogance in spades.
Alas, Sif had promised her elder brother that she would meet him there, as he had found the recent human doppelgänger. Family meant everything to her, so when Elijah requested her for backup, she had rushed to his side. No matter how much she enjoyed her luxurious vacation in the Greek islands, she dropped it all to reunite with him. All it took were the words, I need you here.
As for the doppelgänger - Sif only thought it was a waste of her time. Sure, as the twin of Niklaus, she should be just as eager to break the curse on her hybrid nature, but she had never thought it important. The Elena Gilbert girl - who looked so much like her brother's past lovers - would only lead the Mikaelson family to ruin. If she were superstitious, it would feel like a prophecy.
Especially with a group of baby vampires and a fledgling witch vying for the copy humans protection. The vampires may not be as strong as Sif's family, but what they lacked in strength, they made up for in desperation. Who could blame them when they seemed to be in love with the girl, just as many before them had been?
Sif remembered the previous doppelgängers Tatia and Katerina, and how both seemed to have her brothers wrapped around their pretty little fingers. It seemed like Elena was repeating history, only with a different set of brothers - the Salvatore's.
Sif admired her will for survival, but one thing she should understand is that Niklaus will stop at nothing until he breaks the curse. With her life's blood spilling upon the sacrificial altar, she will be gifting him the one thing he had chased for a millennium - ultimate power and the ability to create more hybrids.
Finishing her glass of top shelf whiskey (not that it meant much in a small town bar such as the Mystic Grill), she pondered over whether Elijah was going to hand the girl to Niklaus or not. While the temptation to break her curse to finally free her werewolf side was tempting, she almost hoped her elder brother would hide the girl.
Niklaus was too powerful - too eager to gain more to hold over his siblings, but the one fact he tried to forget was that Sif was just as strong as him. No matter how strong he was, it was never enough, and there were times where she could never forgive him for it.
"Drinking again, I see," Elijah drawled as he stepped up next to her at the bar. He smoothed out his immaculate suit and folded himself into the chair. "I had guessed that your latest bender in Greece would have been enough to tide you over."
Sif smiled softly, fondness creeping through the thick walls she had built to keep the outside world from seeing her true character. "After listening to your little chat with...what is his name again?" She titled her head and sent her brother innocent eyes. "Demon? Lucifer?"
"Now, sister," Elijah replied in an amused tone, but his neutral expression had hardly shifted. "Do not mistake the eldest Salvatore with our dearest brother Niklaus."
"My mistake. The arrogance seeping from his pores is so much like our brother that I seem to confuse their identities."
Gesturing to the bartender to fill her another glass, she listened to the mundane conversation of the humans around them. Having enhanced hearing was not all it was made out to be, and there was only so much she could distract herself with while waiting for her brothers reply.
He was always careful with his words, which was what made Elijah formidable. The saying always watch out for the quiet ones was practically crafted just for him.
