I'm not sure how much time has passed since Newt left, no one else made an appearance or even seemed to come close to the hut. Personally, I don't mind so much. I have my sister and that's one of the only things I need to worry about right now.

"Y/n..."

I look to the door of the hut, "Anyone there?" I ask.

"Y/n..."

"Hello?" I yell out again, "This isn't funny!"

"Y/n..." The voice speaks again, and I freeze. This voice isn't coming from any of the boys, it's coming from another girl.

I whip my head around to face my sister, she's sound asleep. What the hell is this? I ask myself, and the voice responds, "Y/n! It's me, Teresa."

The realization suddenly hits me. I'm Y/n. My name is Y/n.

Too many things are happening all at once and I begin to feel overwhelmed, "How are you talking?" I ask aloud, "You're asleep."

"I don't know, it doesn't make any sense..." She pauses, "...Try talking in your head again."

"Can you hear me?" I ask her, and I hear a faint, "Holy shit" in return.

"Teresa, how is this possible?"

"I don't know." She trails off, "Where are we? Why can't I remember anything but you?"

"I don't even know the answer to that, no one here can remember their life before this." I pause, remembering the conversation with Newt. "According to one of them, there's a giant maze outside that's surrounding us. But we're safe here, inside the walls."

Teresa doesn't respond for a minute or two, "Who else is here?"

"I-I don't know. They're all strangers to me for now. Another odd thing is that they all happen to be teenage boys, they act like they've never seen a girl." I chuckle to myself in the end.

"How did this happen?" She asks worriedly.

"I'm not sure. One of the boys mentioned that people put us here, and I'm assuming that they also, somehow, took away our memories of our life before this." I explain to her.

"Do you think those same people gave us this ability?"

"It's possible." I say back, but suddenly I remember my recent promise to Newt. "I need to tell the boys about this, I have to go." I say getting up.

"No!" Teresa yells, "We can't! Are you crazy? We don't know these people!"

My hand grips the back of the chair as I realize what I'm doing, so willing to spill this secret to someone I barely know. The scary part is that it felt natural, as if I already knew him. I slowly sit back down and take a few breaths, "You're right. We can't."

"No." She begins, "We have to keep this a secret. I'm not sure when I'll wake up, or if I ever will. But we have to keep this a secret, at least for now."

"Okay." I sigh, "I'll see you soon, Teresa."

"See you soon, Y/n."

Everything goes silent again, as if that conversation never even happened and I've always been alone with my own thoughts. The sudden sound of shouting blocks my train of thought, and the worst possible scenario immediately pops into my head. Grievers.

I've never even seen such a beast and yet I'm terrified, scared of the unknown as if I'm not already living in it. I stand from the chair and cautiously walk to the door of the hut, peeking my head out and eyeing the open field. Nothing. The sun still shines and the boys are still at work.
