Hermitcraft Season 7

~~~
It was a month and a half  since Doc had passed out.
He hadn't woke up.
Currently, X was pacing back and forth at the foot of Doc's bed, muttering to himself and trying command after command, even daring to explore the Forbidden Commands list. Nothing worked.
Now Stress was on their case as well, helping where she could.
Ren refused to leave Doc's side.
Bdubs hadn't slept in weeks.
Grian was beside himself with worry.
And X still had no idea how he could even begin to fix this.
"AAAARGH!" The admin yelled, throwing his communicator at the wall.
Ren, startled, looked up from where he'd set up camp in the corner of Doc's room.
"Hey man, maybe you should go easier on yourself. When's the last time you've eaten? Or slept?" The werewolf questioned.
X stopped, then sighed.
"Ren, I know you mean well, but this may well be my fault! What if I accidentally let a Glitcher into the world without knowing, and that's why we can't fix this? What if he got excluded from a patch? What if-"
"Whoa there, man, slow down. We both know that you're beating yourself up to much about this," Ren interrupted, "and we're all very worried about him. Now stop letting me be the sensible person around here, and get some sleep. I can keep watch." He added, smiling a little.
X looked like he was about to argue, but instead, his shoulders slumped in defeat and exhaustion. The admin nodded wordlessly and set up a makeshift sleeping area in the back room.
~Meanwhile...~
Doc was panicking.
He couldn't tell you why, nothing bad had even happened yet.
Doc supposed the keyword in that particular sentence was yet, however.
The hybrid was in a dark place, which in itself wasn't what had panicked him, after all, he had excellent night vision.
The fact he couldn't actually use said excellent night vision was scary though.
Doc wasn't used to being completely enclosed in darkness, and he now saw why people feared it. He couldn't see if there was any danger, but he had the feeling that he should, so he was constantly turning around at even the slightest sound or sent.
The most consistent sounds were his own footsteps, breathing, the humming of metal.
The only consistent smell was his own fear.
Then the darkness faded away, and Doc was where he least wanted to be in all of the multiverses.
He was in a white-washed, cramped room, with no windows, or any exit besides a locked door whose existence was only betrayed by a tall and thin rectangle on the far wall from where Doc was standing. To his left was his "bed," a slab of metal covered in off-white fabric sticking out of the wall. To his right was a toilet.
Okay. Now I know why I was panicking. Doc thought, starting to hyperventilate.
The cyborg took an uneasy step towards the door, easily picking the familiar lock with a claw.
He quietly opened it, ducking though the not-quite-high-enough doorway.
Glancing up and down the hallway, he saw no one.
He cautiously walked down the hall, not sure what he was expecting. Traps? Alarms? One of them jumping out at him?
He entered a room and his heart stopped.
It was a circular room with a small indent in the middle of the floor, a large window opposite of him.
No. No no no no no. This isn't real. It can't be real. The creeper thought frantically, taking a step back.
He'd destroyed this place. He'd gotten rid of all of them. He couldn't be here. It wasn't possible.
He turned around, ready to flee, but in the doorway was him.
The scientist wasn't that impressive looking, just a simple bald man with a greying soul patch beard, wearing the usual lab coat over his crisp white business suit.
But oh, the sheer wave of pure terror Doc felt looking at him.
The hybrid screamed, falling backwards, before scampering back into the room, towards the window, as far away from that horrible man as he could get.
The scientist chuckled.
"Oh, M77. No love for your creator? We're just going to have a quick test, like the good old days."
Doc's heart was pounding in his chest, ramming against his ribcage like it wanted to flee as badly as he did.
With shaking hands, he pulled himself up. He felt like he was a little kid again.
"No."
Doc's voice cracked, but he'd said it. The last time he had said that, he'd been moments away from exploding the entire facility.
His creator frowned. "Come now, don't be like that. I would hate to have to hurt you."
Doc made an undignified squeak. "No. This isn't real. This isn't real. I saw you die. I saw this place go up in flames. This isn't real. This isn't real." He stammered out, backing even further against the wall, touching the back of his neck subconsciously.
His creator smirked, making a sarcastic applause, like he did whenever Doc realized something that had been painfully apparent. "Oh, child. Of course it's not. Now try to figure out how to make the nightmare end when you can't wake up."
Doc's eyes widened, and he shrunk away from his torturer. "O-of course I can wake up. I just... Don't know how." He mumbled, trying to focus and furrowing his brow.
The old man snorted. "Keep trying. But why don't we have that test while you're at it, hm?" He suggested, smiling evilly.
~Back in the waking world...~
Grian was here now, leaning over Doc with his eyes narrowed, observing him closely.
"Hey Ren, is it just me or is his expression changing? He looks scared now... and in pain? Yeah, definitely in pain. Oh, Notch, that is... The most anguished face I have ever seen."
Ren furrowed his brow, coming over to look. He examined Doc's face for a moment, then nodded. "Do you think he's having a nightmare? He gets those really bad, he told me..."
Grian's frown deepened. "I'd hope not. He's already been through so much..."
The comatose Doc made a weak whimper, curling in on himself.
Grian and Ren shared a look.
They were definitely in for a long, bumpy ride.
