Chapter Twenty-One

    -Misaki's P.O.V-

        The rest of the players who haven't died from that blow scream in shock and fear. I look around. Klein, Asuna, Yui, Kumaru, and Kirito are still alive. I find Heathcliff standing by the rest of his guild, he doesn't look dazed by what just happened here. We've all had our share of difficult bosses here and there, but this one is the most intriguing looking bosses I've ever come face to face with.

        I search through my inventory and quickly equip my other armor, the one that gives me the ability to fly, believe it or not. I equip Sky Piercer and take flight. I don't care if Heathcliff is supposed to be taking charge here, but I am. I start to bark orders at the players below me. ''Klein, your guild is responsible to keep Brynhildr distracted. Heathcliff, it'd be best if The Knights of the Blood Oath attack relentlessly. The rest of us will be split up." I point at one group. "You guys will be protecting Klein's guild." I point to another group. "I assume you guys know more debuff spells than I do, you'll be debuffing Brynhildr." Then I point over at the group of soloists.

        "Misaki!" Someone screams and I quickly equip my sword and block the blow from Brynhildr.

        "You guys choose what role you want! We need a person to buff the rest of the players, one or two would work out just fine!" I shout at them. I push Brynhildr back and Klein tries their best to turn his attention towards them. After a few rounds of my blocking his attacks, he finally turns to their group and I signal Heathcliff and his troops to charge. They all let out a battle cry and I watch as a bunch of debuff icons appear right above Brynhildr's many health bars. I look down at the casters then back up at the icons.

        Imperil, Deprotect, Deshell, Debrave, Dispil, Defaith, Poison, Slowga, and Cursega.

        We're doing pretty well. The buff icons haven't appeared on my screen yet, and I assume it's taking them awhile for it to be successfully casted over all of the players. I watch as Kirito starts to slash at the boss, I roll my eyes and attack from above. Someone casts Fire on my and my sword is covered with burning embers. I smile and continue to attack. Brynhildr's first health bar is down to half health. Klein does his best to distract it, and Brynhildr continues to attack them with him claws. I let out another cry and slash at Brynhildr. It's first health bar disappears, which means that we've got it down to zero. Instead of slashing at us, Brynhildr creates a ball of some sort of magic. I study it, Nightwish. That ability can kill many players in a large range. It throws it at Klein.

        "Move!" I shout at him, he looks at me then at the ball and then leaps to his side, other's copy and dodge it successfully. But their health has gone down into red. They all quickly try to heal and Brynhildr roars, which stun most of us since it's so loud, we have to cover out ears and yield attacking for a moment.

        It takes that chance and quickly swipes it's claws down at Klein. I scream and Him and the others dodge it again. I sigh in relief and start to attack. I change my armor quickly, most of the guys stop to look at me, but Kirito shoots them a deadly look and they avert their eyes. I sprint, lead up in the air, slash at it five times, making his health go down by a lot each time. I slash at it one last time, do a backflip in mid-air and right before I land on the ground I throw my sword at him. His second health bar is now gone. But Brynhildr lets out another roar and we watch it's body parts shift and turn. There's a sudden flash of light and we're all blinded for a moment. When the light fades, I let my eyes adjust and Brynhildr has now turned into... A dragon.

        "What the hell?" Klein shouts.

        I step back a bit and equip my original bow, Cloud. It flies trough the air, roaring and swoops down towards up, but doesn't attack. Would it just pleas stop toying with us? It's horrifying as is already. Kirito and Asuna launch up into the air and attack it, but it's health doesn't move. People gasp in shock. "How are we going to defeat it now?" One of them asks. A few people armed with axes and maces try to attack it, but it does no damage. I look around and a girl with a spear slashes at Brynhildr a few times, but nothing happens. Brynhildr flaps it's wings and doesn't make it's move.

        "Try magic!" Someone shouts and people cast random spells at the boss.

        Nothing.

        I look down at my hand, Cloud begins to glow. I glance up at the boss and unsheathe an arrow, pull back the bow string then release. Everything seems to go in slow motion just then. We all watch the arrow cut through the air, it's head pierces into Brynhildr and it lets out a scream. It's health goes down by an eighth. It worked. People say their "aahs" and I smile. So it's a battle where only an archer can beat this bastard. People back up without me telling them to, and it's just Brynhildr and me in the room, well, in my mind it is. He charges up another ball of Nightwish from his open mouth and then aims it for me. I wait for the right moment. As Nightwish comes charging towards me, I leap up into the air as high as I can and dodge it. Brynhildr starts to claw at me and as it's hand nears me, I turn so my feet are facing it and then leap off it his hand on contact. I do another backflip in the air and shoot five arrows at him all at once. Brynhildr counters two of my arrows but the other three catch him on his face. I smile and land on the ground. His health drops down to red and he lets out another cry, but this one's different.

        "The sound of life!" Someone yells behind me, and Brynhildr's health bar renews itself. We all stare in shock and I shoot more arrows at him. This time, it only does so little damage.

        "Shit." I whisper to myself. I equip my other sword, my matching one, Dawnstar and start to attack it. Someone starts to glow a bright blue and Brynhildr's health continues to drop.

        "Look, her sword's glowing!"

        "What's going on?"

        "Is that even possible?!"

        My sword's glowing? What are they talking about? After I hit Brynhildr one last time, I look down, and their right. It is glowing. Bright blue smoke emerges from it, swirling in the air, dancing around beautifully. It climbs up my arm and starts to encircle my body. I look at Kumaru and my eyes seem to say 'What's going on?' she just smiles and nods her head towards Brynhildr. Point one health left. He charges up Nightwish again and I leap up into the air. I feel lighter, faster, stronger... The blue smoke becomes thicker and as he releases Nightwish, I attack him one last time. The boss shatters and the "Congratulations!" Sign pops up. Everyone cheers and Heathcliff smirks. I look around, and see that we've just lost more people. Klein still here, Kumaru... Asuna, Yui... Umm.. Where's Kirito? Heathcliif steps up closer to me and others try to join him, but are stopped by some invisible force field or something, glass so it seems. I looks around me.

        "Kirito?!?"
