Dear Diary,

I honestly do not know why my therapist is making me do this. I find it really dumb, it's not like it's going to help in any way. Writing in a diary isn't going to make the pain go away, it's just going to be there to remind me of how crappy I feel. Let's be honest, whenever I read this again all I am going to feel is the way I felt while writing this, shitty. Yet my therapist says I need to do this in order to move on so I guess I can give it a try.

Today is the first day of my senior year. Am I excited? Not really. But finishing school is something my parents would've wanted me to do. I'm not excited to return to school because I'm not prepared to have everyone look at me like the girl who lost her parents. I hate getting those sympathy looks and the 'sorry for your loss' crap. Even after hearing that phrase for the past four months I still don't know how to respond to it.

Enough with the sad talk. I guess there is one thing I am looking forward to this year. Well it is my senior year which means all eyes will be on me for another reason. Varsity Cheerleading Captain. Even though I fell back after losing mom and dad, my best friend Caroline was there to help me back onto my feet. It's time for one last hurrah with the Mystic Falls High School cheerleading uniform.

Eliana made her way down the stairs of her home. The smell of coffee made it's presence known around the house causing a huge smile to form on Eliana's face.

As Eliana entered the kitchen she saw her sister Elena, sitting at the island located in the kitchen with a bowl of cereal in front of her. Her aunt Jenna was also in the kitchen standing right in front of the fridge.

"Toast." Jenna said as she stared into the refrigerator. "I can make toast." She added while closing it.

Eliana walked towards the coffee maker with a white mug in hand and a small smile on her face.

"It's all about the coffee, Aunt Jenna." Eliana said as she poured herself some into a mug.

Jeremy soon joined them in the kitchen half asleep. He walked towards Eliana as he saw the white mug in her hand.

"Is there coffee?" Jeremy asked as he looked into Eliana's mug.

Eliana tried to fight back a laugh as she nudged her head to the coffee maker beside her. Meanwhile, Jenna walked over to her purse which was sitting on the island beside Elena.

"Your first day of school and I'm totally unprepared." Jenna said as she pulled out her wallet from her purse. "Lunch money?" She questioned as she took out some money from her wallet handing it out to the three.

"I'm good." Elena said kindly declining the money as she finished off her cereal.

Elena stood up from the island and walked over to place her bowl in the sink. Meanwhile, Jeremy and Eliana both walked over to Jenna accepting the money. Of course, Jeremy being Jeremy took Elena's money as well.

"Thanks Jenna." Eliana told her Aunt with a smile as she took the money in hand.

"Crap, I'm running late." Jenna said as she caught a glance of her watch.

"Don't worry I'll take the car." Eliana quickly said as Jenna threw her an unsure look.

"Are you sure you're okay with that? I can drive y'all to school." Jenna told her niece as Eliana sighed bringing a smile onto her face.
