Eliana walked into her first period class which happened to be the history class she failed the year before. She took notice of how the usual substitute wasn't sitting at the desk. She walked over to her seat which was right beside Caroline's.
"Is Momma Liz, doing okay?" Eliana questioned as she turned to her best friend.
"She's doing pretty good actually. She's back in the office today." Caroline said with a sigh getting Eliana to send her tight lip smile.
"Good morning, everyone." A man said as he gained all the students attention as he set his things down on the teachers desk. "Okay let's see." He mumbled as he took the chalk in hand.
"Alaric Saltzman. It's a mouthful. I know. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue." The new history teacher said as he finished writing his name on the board.
"Saltzman is of German origins. My family emigrated here in 1755 to Texas. I, however, was born and raised in Boston." Mr. Saltzman said as Eliana paid close attention to the new teacher. "Now the name Alaric belongs to a very dead great-grandfather I'll never be able to thank enough." He said as Eliana turned to Bonnie for a second noticing how she was off.

After dropping Eliana off at school Damon headed back home to encounter Stefan. Who hadn't left his room since the night before.
"Rise and shine!" Damon said as he made his way into Stefan's room. "You'll be late for school." He added as Stefan sat up in his bed.
"What are you... What are you doing?" Stefan quickly questioned his brother.
"Peace offering." Damon said as he held out a coffee mug for his brother. "Come on. You need it for blood circulation. Does dead flesh good." He said as Stefan got up to walk towards him.
"Alright, I'm sorry." Damon said as he noticed how his brother was still pretty pissed about Lexi.
"Step aside, please." Stefan said before making his way around Damon towards the bathroom.
"I got the town off our back. It was for the greater good, but I'm sorry. Plus I heard Lexi talking to you about the urge she was getting when Eliana and I walked into the bar." He said as he put the mug down on Stefan's desk.
"But she was in control. Lexi knows control better than the both of us." Stefan said from his bathroom.
"Stefan this is Eliana we're talking about. A girl that is destined to become a powerful immortal. Do you think nature is going to allow a vampire to have control when it needs for the girl to be dead?" Damon stated getting Stefan to give his brother pure silence. "Look I mean what I just said. I did it for the greater good. And to prove it, I'm not gonna feed on a human." He said as he turned to the bathroom.
