Maleficent brings Aurora deep within the Moors. Some of the folk give us curious glances as we pass.

Maleficent finds a spot to hide in the shadows and I sit by her side. She waves her hand and some golden magic brings Aurora slowly to the ground.

Aurora wakes up and looks around the Moors as she slowly gets to her feet. A bright smile on her face. She turns around and faces the spot where Maleficent is hiding/watching.

"I know you're there, don't be afraid." she says.

Maleficent laughs and I look at her.

"I'm not afraid." Maleficent says.

"Then come out."

"Then you'll be afraid."

"No I won't." Aurora insists.

Maleficent looks at me and I move my head signalling she should go. She sighs and steps out of the shadows.

"I know who you are." Aurora claims.

My eyes widen and I look between Maleficent and Aurora.

"Do you?" Maleficent asks.

Aurora nods, a big smile on her face. "You're my fairy godmother!" She exclaims.

I snort with laughter.

"What?" Maleficent asks in surprise.

"Fairy godmother. You've been watching over me my whole life. Always known you were close by." Aurora explains.

"How?" Maleficent asks.

"Your shadow. It's been following me ever since I was small. Wherever I went your shadow was always with me."

I step out of the shadows now, thinking it's a good time to make my presence known.

Aurora smiles down at me. "It's you! Beautiful wolf."

I nod my head once slowly.

I hear the flapping of wings and Diaval perches on a nearby branch.

Aurora looks at him too. "I remember you, pretty bird."

Diaval spreads his wings and does sort of a curtsy bow thing.

"This is (y/n) and Diaval." Maleficent says changing us into humans.

The white cloak still hangs around my shoulders.

"You were at the wall!" Aurora exclaims as her eyes widen in recognition.

"Yes, that was I." I smile.

"Hello Aurora, we've known you since you were a little one." He says. Diaval takes Aurora's hand and places a small kiss on it.

A small bit of jealousy rises in me, but I remember the words he spoke not to long ago and the small fire diminishes.

Aurora smiles and spins around to look at the Moors. "It's everything I imagined it would be!" she says. "It's just so beautiful. I've always wanted to come-"

Maleficent blows the sleeping spell in her face again and Aurora falls asleep mid sentence.

Me and Diaval watch in silence as Maleficent brings Aurora out of the woods and back to her home. Many fairies and other creatures of the Moors watch as they pass.

I watch them go until I can no longer see them. I can feel Diaval's gaze on me but I don't turn to look. Instead I tighten my grip on my cloak and begin walking off. Diaval starts following me.

Without looking I say, "I'm surprised you want my company." My voice is soft.

"Why wouldn't I?" He asks.

"Oh I don't know maybe because I'm a filthy, stinking, dirty, vicious, bird hunter." I say.

Diaval stops in surprise. "Y-you heard that?"

"Did you think I wouldn't?" I turn to face him.

Diaval looks down in guilt. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it."

I scoff, "Would you still be sorry if I didn't hear it and was blissfully unaware of how you really felt about me. So we could go on this late night walk and pretend like you don't hate what I am."

Diaval doesn't say anything, he just stares at me with wide eyes.

"I suppose now you don't want to hear me say how beautiful you looked as a wolf. Because it would be an insult!" My voice raises as I let out all these emotions I was feeling. Tears blur my eyes as I turn away.

Diaval just stands there in stunned silence.

My cloak blows around me as I stalk away from him. My mind reels with different thoughts. I desperately need to sit and think.
