A Wolf and A Raven

~13~ Fight

Aurora gets off the bed and stands. She makes her way over to us. She has a look of regret on her face.

"(y/n) I'm so sorry."

I pull her into a hug. "It's okay. You're back and that's all that matters."

She pulls away and smiles at me.

A few more seconds of happy tears and hugs before Maleficent says we should get going.

I nod in agreement and Maleficent turns both me and Diaval back into animals.

Quietly we make our way out of Aurora's room and down some stone stairs. Diaval flies ahead in the big open room that the stairs lead. I stay by Aurora's side.

"Are we going back to the Moors now?" Aurora asks.

"If that is what you wish." Maleficent says.

Aurora nods and Maleficent steps out into the open room. She looks back at Aurora and gestures for her to follow.

Aurora steps off the final step and begins to follow when an iron net falls and lands on top of Maleficent.

Maleficent tries to lift the chain but screams in pain when the metal burns her.

Me and Aurora rush forward to try and help but a bunch of guards appear out of nowhere and haul her back.

"No! Stop!" Aurora screams.

Some of the guards grab me before I can help Aurora. Guards start hitting and beating Maleficent under the net.

I hear Diaval and see him trying to help Aurora but there isn't much he can do as a small bird. I try to get there to help but a bunch of guards surround me.

I hear Maleficent gasp in pain as the guards continue to beat her.

Maleficent looks at bothe me and Diaval and flicks her fingers. "Into a dragon." she says breathlessly.

Both me and Diaval change into fire breathers. Diaval is all black whereas I am the color of my fur.

I smirk as I now tower over the guards. I breathe fire on them and they scatter, running away screaming.

Diaval gets the guards away from Maleficent and pull the net off her.

Guards surround both me and Diaval.

I roar as I'm forced back and smash into a pillar. I hear Aurora scream and Maleficent shout, "Run Aurora!"

I swipe at approaching guards with my claws and knock a few away. I see a bunch of guards starting to surround Maleficent, I go to get rid of them but before I can do anything a chain is thrown around my mussel.

I pull against the chain but more wrap around my neck and legs. I fight to keep standing but eventually I'm pulled over. I land on my side hard. I try to get back up but more chain secure me in place.

I look to see Diaval in a similar situation.

I hear the guards pounding their shields and look to see the king approaching Maleficent.

I pull with all my might but the guards pull me back down.

"Enough!" The king shouts and the pounding stops. He walks up to Maleficent. "How does it feel, to be a fairy creature without wings, in a world where you don't belong!" The king wraps his iron chain around Maleficent who gasps in pain.

I whine and try to pull free again but it doesn't work.

Stephan throws Maleficent against the stairs and pulls out his sword.

Maleficent backs up the stairs trying to get away from Stephan.

In the distance I can hear the flapping of wings.

What?

Stephan charges at Maleficent ready to stab her with his sword but a blinding bright light stops him in his tracks.

I watch in amazement as feathered wings reattach to Maleficent. She stands with defiance and flies up into the air. Everyone watches as she gets higher up, a satisfied smile on her face.

"Kill her!" Stephan shouts.

Maleficent turns to the guards as they start throwing spears and firing arrows at her. He blocks them

Maleficent starts flying and Stephan gets dragged around because the chain is stuck on his wrist. Maleficent flies towards the big window behind the thrones and bursts through the glass with Stephan getting dragged behind.

The remaining guards don't know what to do now that their king is gone.

Diaval takes care of the guards still holding me down and I'm able to stand again. The rest of the guards flee, their numbers being too small to take on two dragons.

I laugh in triumph.

I notice Aurora standing at the base of some stairs, she smiles at us. I lower my head to her and she runs a hand along my muzzle.

I hear the return of Maleficent and look to see her fly back through the hole in the window. She turns me and Diaval back into humans and together the four of us make our way back to the Moors.
