A few days later, everything seemed to be okay again. Xiaojun avoided you because he knew he needed to come up with a way to apologize, and until then he didn't want to see you unless the words could come out of his mouth. He didn't want to seem like he wasn't trying to make it better, when in reality he was having a mental war with himself.
Laughter started echoing throughout the house again, and like always, it put you in a happy place. You still felt a small shadow clinging to your back, however. It was the shadow of regret. You told yourself that you regretted telling the guys about the game, when in reality, you felt relieved. You were feeling anxious about something you did, or maybe something that was coming up, but you didn't know what it was.
You sleepily rubbed your eyes as you stretched while walking down the stairs. When you got to the kitchen, only Ten and Yangyang were there.
"Where is everyone?" You mumbled.
"The grocery store." Yangyang replied. "We wanted to stay here with you."
Ten made a sound of fake disappointment. "Even though we see you everyday." You gasped and gently slapped his shoulder, but he just laughed and pulled you into a tight hug. "You know I'm kidding, baby."
"I thought Yangyang was your baby."
Yangyang stopped drying the dishes and pointed a finger. "I'm not his baby. I'm a fugitive now."
"We're all fugitives now, baby Yangyang." Ten poked.
Yangyang made a face at both of you and went back to his chore. Sometimes it amazed you that the two of them, along with the rest of WayV were criminals. They picked up on the bad things that the people around them were doing, and if it weren't for those people, they would probably be living normal lives. They probably wouldn't be wanted.
On that note, "How did they go to the grocery store? Someone will recognize who they are."
"They made sure no one would recognize them."
You nodded slowly at Yangyang and slipped your hands into your pockets. You felt like something in your world was off kilter, and you tried to pinpoint it, but got distracted when the doorbell rang.
You held your hand out, so Ten put his knife in your palm and you encased it in between your slender fingers. You looked out the peep hole and saw a young man, probably eighteen or so. You looked at Ten and Yangyang, and the expression on your face sent them to stand behind you.
Opening the door, the young man straightened himself up and smiled brightly. "Minli Chang?"
"No," You lied. "But how can I help you?"
"You don't know who I am?" He questioned.
You took in his attire - neat and put together. He looked like Minsu, but maybe you were just paranoid, so you answered, "No, I don't."
"Well," Minsu popped out from behind the outside wall and tilted his head at you. "Let me introduce the two of you."
You went to shut the door, but Minsu pushed it back open and dragged the young boy with him. Your blood boiled at the arrogant smirk on your older brothers face. You were really trying to keep it together.
"Kind of rude to let yourself in, don't you think?" Ten questioned rhetorically.
Minsu's eyebrows jumped. "What are you gonna do, set me on fire?"
Yangyang scoffed as his arms crossed over themselves. "Don't threaten me with a good time."
You grinned at his remark. Yangyang was always very straightforward and that was something you admired about him.
"This place is much nicer than your last." Your brother commented as he plopped himself onto an expensive reclining chair. "Where'd you get it? Did you con a real estate agent out of it?"
"Doesn't matter. You're just here to cause a scene."
He bit the inside of his cheek and nodded, then suddenly changed as he looked to the younger and held his hands out. "This is Yujin." Your eyes fell on the boy once more. "Yujin Chang."
Your eyes shifted back to your brother. "Chang?"
Your brother hummed as the front door opened. "Whoever owns that car needs it wrapped or something, because it is ugly."
Hendery and the three guys laughed, then stopped when they saw Minsu and the stranger. They all cleared their throats and scampered to the kitchen to put the groceries up. Yujin walked past you and into the kitchen to join the older men.
"Let me help." He said.
Nobody said anything to him, and they kept a careful eye on him as he put groceries away, politely asking where everything went beforehand. When the groceries were put up, they stood in the doorway and looked between you, Minsu, and the young boy.
"Oh no." Winwin whispered.
Kun pushed his hair away from his face. "She's going to lose her mind."
"Minli," The house got eerily quiet as everyone anticipated Minsu's next words. "Say hello to your little brother, Yujin."
