Day 488:
Tina

The gun in The Gardener's hand goes off and hits Zeke in the chest. I've never screamed louder.

"ZEKE NOOOO!" I scream, running to him.

"T-T-Tina...Tina...get the f-fuck out of here. Now. God, do it now. Babe I...I can't lose you." Zeke says.

"I can't lose YOU!" I argue. "What am I supposed to do without you, huh?!"

"I know you'll...you'll make it. I promise you. I know you're strong, Teen. I'm certain of that." He croaks.

"No...please...please!" I weep.

The Gardener fires another shot into the grass. A huge explosion erupts, setting the garden on fire in seconds.

"The mines! Oh SHIT!" Peony swears.

She drags me away from Zeke as I watch his eyes close. "ZEKE! ZEKE NO! I LOVE YOU! PLEASE!"

"I'm sorry, Tina. I'm so so sorry." Peony says, trying to pull me through the fire.

"EVERYONE GET THE FUCK UP!" Peony yells at the top of her lungs. Everyone soon begins to escape.

The Gardener falls to his knees and sobs as he watches his beautiful garden and all of his flowers burn to the ground.

"Zeke! Zeke!" I still cry, begging Peony to let me go to him. I can't let him burn here.

"He's not supposed to die...oh God, he's not supposed to DIE!" I wail.

"I know. I know." Peony says, trying to be as comforting as she can, though it's definitely not her strong suit.

The flames lick at our skin, burning us all so badly that it's incredibly difficult to make it to the other side of the gate once it's opened.

Some are screaming and running, while others only collapse onto the dirt and cry.

I'm one of the criers. And soon, we see headlights and the flash of police sirens.

A familiar red car is among them. And the moment my family exits it, I see them run to me.

I'm too weak and burned up to do the same, lying on the ground in pure shock.

"TINA! TINAAAAAA!" Mom screams, taking me into her embrace with Dad. I've never seen him cry like this.

"Tina...Oh my God...Oh my GOD!" He wails, hugging me way too tightly.

"M-Mommy...D-D-Daddy..." I cry softly.

"Tina, you son of a bitch!" Louise yells and wipes the tears from her face.

Gene is another story. He's sobbing. "Tina. Tina Tina Tina." He just keeps saying my name over and over again.

Eventually it all becomes far too much to handle, and I pass out. All of this pain is zapping the energy away from me.

But being in the loving embrace of my family once again is something I wouldn't trade for anything in the universe.

When I wake up again, I'm in the hospital surrounded by my loved ones. Except Zeke.
