The following few days everything was still as peaceful as it could get. Bella was still gone and Alissa was grateful for it. She should be worried for the girl but she didn't care. She was more focused on continuing on her with her life. The girl had started spending more time with Paul even after avoiding him for a day or two. They haven't talked about the kiss and she was grateful that he realised she didn't. They basically put the whole kiss thing behind them. Alissa did enjoy his company and presence around her.
She did find it funny that he would literally do anything she asked of him. The boy would carry her bags when she went shopping, he'd pretend to be her model while she tried to choose some makeup brands. The foundation and didn't match his skin tone but he didn't mind. He told her being in her presence was all he needed.
That one line made her swoon but that was all. She didn't want to think further than that. The girl was keeping him at a distance since she could feel herself falling for him. She blamed everything on him. If he hadn't imprinted on her, she wouldn't be feeling giddy whenever she saw him and she probably wouldn't have been dreaming of kissing him again.
While she did spend time with Jake, she wasn't seeing him everyday like she was seeing Paul. Her uncle had been convinced that the two were dating with how many times he came over. If it wasn't Paul and Jake, it was Embry and Paul or Jared and Paul but Paul was always present.
She did make some time to hang out with Angela but it wasn't just the two of them. Eric had to be present for whatever reason. She hadn't hung out with her school friends as much and she did feel bad but they were too preoccupied with each other. She had invited Jessica to join her for some shopping and she had agreed, but only if Mike could join. That's how their shopping trip turned into her third wheeling Jessica and Mike.
Next time she invited either Angela or Jessica, she'd know not to invite any of the guys.
Alissa stared out the window as they neared her house. “Is Bella back yet?” Jessica asked.
“Maybe. I don't know. She's supposed to be back today. Why?” The Argent girl looked over at the brunette. “Just asking. It's been like forever since I've heard from her,” Jessica said and Alissa nodded. It has only been a few weeks since they last hung out.
They stopped in front of the house and Alissa sighed, happy to be back home. She was exhausted from following Jessica and Mike around. She grabbed the two bags from the backseat. “Thanks for today, Jess,” Alissa said even though she hated it.
“Sorry about Mike. Next time when we go shopping we'll only invite Angela.”
Alissa nodded, opening the door just when she saw someone exiting the house. She quickly climbed out, thanking Jessica before she saw who it actually was. The girl nodded with a frown before she drove off.
