"Jump on!"
"Hold on, Babe"
I removed myself from Glenn's arms then moved to stand beside my brothers who had tears rolling down their cheeks but they were quietly sobbing to themselves, "It's okay" I whispered squeezing the twins arms then placed a comforting hand on Mason's shoulder.
We buried Sophia under a tree along with Maggie's stepmother and stepbrother who were already one of the walkers in the barn, they were they first ones to turn apparently and so Hershel put them in the barn in hopes of saving them then he just started collecting more and more.
Maggie told me that she knew that they were gone and there was no way to save them but she went along with it for her father's sake which I can understand. A little.
"I'm so sorry for your loss, Carol" I said standing behind her as she sat on her knees in front of her daughter's grave, like she has since we opened the barn almost two hours ago.
Carol didn't say anything so I bowed my head as a sign of respect to Carol before walking away towards my brothers who were waiting for me, "What do we do now?" Miles asked.
"We move on the best we can and leave her time to grieve" I replied and they all nodded.
"I don't feel safe sleeping out here after what has just happened" Max stated and I nodded.
"We could sleep up in the trees again" Mason suggested and we all looked up at the trees before I sighed then dropped my head."I think we might have to talk to Rick" I suggested and all three brothers look at me, "It's not safe for any of us" I added truthfully.
"Maybe we should just leave. Go off on our own again. We survived before, we can do it again" Miles suggested and I shook my head at him.
"You and I both know that we can't leave this group and I also know that none of us want to either" I stated and they all looked down, silently agreeing. We have become too attached to ever leave this group, these people again.
"Have you seen Rick?" I heard Lori ask once she had come back from talking with Daryl.
"I saw him head towards the barn with Shane" Andrea answered and my eyes widened as Lori nodded her head then headed towards the barn, I went to follow but decided against it when I realised that I have someone else to talk to.Someone who has set up his own camp away from us, he did that shortly after burying Sophia. I know that he blames himself for not being able to bring her back to Carol alive.
"I'll be right back, make yourself useful and see if anyone needs anything" I told the boys as I walked off, going towards the Redneck's camp.
"Like I told Lori, I don't want to talk to anyone" He told me as soon as I had approached him.
"But I'm not anyone, I'm Rain. So, do what everyone else does and swear at the Rain" I added trying to enlighten the mood and he scoffed before going back to sharpening his arrows which made a thought come to mind.
"Actually, I came over to ask for a favour but don't worry about it if you're busy" I said turning around and went to walk off but he stopped me by calling my name quietly.
"What?" He asked and I didn't take another step as I turned around then took my arrows off, over my head then handed it to him.
