"𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸."
It was a cheeky smile— nothing new, maybe even all the same. The way his lips curled upwards, his teeth flashing white, all tied neatly together with his childish giggle.
It was a sight that only meant a handful of things; a rather popular meaning being unpleasant news. Although the information never sounded that horrible, it was mainly because Gojo was good at making things sound better than they were.
"When did you ever say she was coming back?" Megumi asked his voice was stern suddenly carrying a sharp edge to it, quickly changing the atmosphere at the small round table.
"Didn't I tell you last week?" Gojo laughed tilting his head to the side as if this was one big joke.
"No, you didn't."
"Well then, my apologies but at least you know now!" Gojo smiled, it was his usual grin— the one that made everyone just a bit more irritated than normal whenever he flashed it, "Besides you should be happy, it's been a while after all."
Gojo's words came out quickly as he was now preoccupied with the half-empty side dishes that filled the table, "Can't believe you kids don't eat these sides— they're too good to go to waste!"
"Don't go on changing the subject." Megumi huffed crossing his arms over his chest, "You know you have more explaining to do especially for Itadori and Nobara."
"There nothing more to explain," Gojo said simply picking up some tempura with his chopsticks, "(First Name) is returning from her suspension, that's all really."
"Suspension?" Itadori repeated bringing his cup of water down from his lips.
Nobara raised her head slightly, "Isn't getting suspended from here pretty difficult?"
"Not when you steal a cursed item, and try to sell it..." a sigh escaped Megumi as he elaborated on the situation.
"Ha! No way!" Nobara smiled leaning forward slightly a smug look pulling at her face, "A cursed object, huh? She's clever for that...those things must coast a fortune around here!"
"You would think that she'd be gone for longer," Itadori paused for a moment as he brought his finger to his chin, "I mean it's a cursed object after all, aren't those important?"
"Oh, it is!" Gojo laughed pressing his chopsticks into his food and cutting it in half, "But you know...I have my ways."
Megumi rolled his eyes, he hadn't been this irritated for what seemed to be months. It was one thing to see you get suspended for something completely avoidable, but even worse when this simply wasn't a one-off thing.
It's as if you've spent your whole life dedicating it to the most outlandish decisions. It was something Megumi could never understand— or maybe didn't want to understand.
