Chapter 26

*Matthew's POV*

We went to go see Riley and I wasn't sure if she was conscious or not yet. What do I say if she is? What if she isn't, do we just sit there and wait? What if she isn't conscious when we have to leave for our next stop, do we just leave without her? No we can't leave without her, Shawn won't let it happen and neither will I. But I mean we have to do the shows, people pay to come and see us. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. 

When we got there Riley was already awake so thank god I don't have to worry anymore. We all talked to her for a while but I knew something felt wrong.

"Hey Matt, can I talk to you for a minute?" said Shawn.

"Ya" I replied. This is not going to end well. I can already tell. 

"I'm sorry but I don't think you and my sister should be a thing. Every time you guys are happy something horrible goes wrong. First you broke her heart and made out with that other girl. Then when she left and came back you were happy. Then she said no to being your girlfriend and you tried to make her jealous by bringing back that girl. Then she made you jealous with Cameron and everything was okay because thanks to me you worked it out. You guys were both happy and that same girl you used to make Riley jealous came back, tripped her and now she has a concussion. Lately every time she is sad it is because of you and I think you should end this." Shawn said.

"I can't just let her go Shawn. She means everything to me. I want to give her everything I really do but I keep messing up. This the last time I swear. Next time if I mess up if you want me to break up with her I will but I just can't right now. My last mistake caused this one and I swear it won't happen again. Just please don't make me do this." I said. I can't break up with her.

"Fine but no more mistakes. You have made enough already." he said. 

As we went back in I saw all eyes were on us. I asked if I could talk to Riley alone and everyone left the room. 

"Hey. Do you umm actually remember anything from before you got knocked out?"

"Yep. I just don't know what happened after my head hit the wall. Other than that everything is clear as day." 

"So... knowing what you know, what are we?"

"God Matt don't start with this again."

"What do you mean I am being 100% serious Riley."

"You know exactly what we are! Why do you always question it?!" 

"Because I don't want to lose you Riley! Goddammit I lov- really really like you." I was screaming until I almost said love. I don't know why I almost said it. I don't think I love her. Good thing I didn't finish saying it.

"I lov...really really like you too. I wouldn't have gone through all of this for someone I don't care about Matt. Just please stop asking." she was practically begging me and I didn't want anything else to happen so I didn't say anything else. I just sat down on one of the chairs beside her and looked at her. Everyone saw we stopped talking and came back in. We all just sat in silence. 

WAIT! DID RILEY JUST ALMOST SAY SHE LOVED ME?!?!
