"Catherine?" Mrs. Nancy said. Maybe she was wondering what the actual shit was Catherine up to.
"Mrs. Nancy, can I get a knife? I'd like to stab this person right now and right here!" Catherine said, pointing towards me. Her eyes were staring at me like that hungry dog.
I gave out a small laugh but then immediately, I placed my hand on my mouth because I felt it was disrespectful to laugh at someone who's grasping for breathe.
"But, what's the matter, girls?" Mrs. Nancy asked out of curiosity, folding her arms.
"Aunt, you won't believe what did she do! Due to that Doberman, we planned to run on the count of three. I ran, but she—she did not! That dog was running behind me like a crazy animal and I saw her walking as if she was walking in a park."
I was still smiling while looking at the ground. I raised my eyes and saw that even Mrs. Nancy was smiling at what I've done. Well, maybe she won't mind, but I could see Catherine's expression to get worse when she saw Mrs. Nancy smiling.
"Okay, forget it. She won't do that again. Alright, Catherine?" Mrs. Nancy said, trying to calm her down. "Tell me, girls, why are you both here?"
"Nothing much, Mrs. Nancy. I just wanted to tell you that she is May, new student here." Catherine said.
"Got you, Catherine." Mrs. Nancy replied bluntly.
"A—And Mrs. Nancy, she loves to have chicken. It's her favourite." Catherine added.
Wait! Wasn't that something I was supposed to say? Why the hell is Catherine taking away my dialogues?
"May, what's your favourite food?" Mrs. Nancy asked me.
Finally I got a chance to speak something. "Umm... I really love pasta. And yes, chicken, of course!"
"Great. I'll add chicken wings and pasta in tomorrow's dinner. Good?"
"Absolutely!" Catherine replied. "Thankyou so much, Aunt." We said and turned back to leave.
We came out of the house and the next moment I could feel my blood draining off my face.
I was scared of the dog.
Catherine held my hand and said, "Now, May. I'll say 1-2-3. And you have to run! Don't dare to bluff me once again because you won't be able to; I'm holding your hand this time."
"Oh... Okay.." I was quite nervous.
"Okay. 1—2—3. And run!"
We both ran as fast as we could. She left my hand and started running at an even faster pace. Now she was ahead of me and I could already hear the dog barking behind me. The barking was coming closer.
Suddenly, I heard Catherine say something. She said, "I want to pee.. and shit and fart!"
As she said this, I couldn't control myself and broke into a massive laughter. I was already tired and then I started laughing; a dangerous thing to do when a hungry dog is already running behind you!
Well, my mom told me once that if you even spot a hungry dog chasing people, don't run. Running provokes the dog even more to run behind you. I had agreed. But now I find it contradicting.
Of course when an animal is trying to pull the living hell out of your body, aren't you supposed to run and save yourself? Or do you not run and let that dog have it's feast?
Well, obviously, if you are tired and running and laughing, you feel like laying down on the ground and laugh your heart out. But I couldn't do that, the dog was still behind!
"Stop laughing and run faster if you want to stay alive and want to see tomorrow's morning!" Catherine shouted.
But my laughter was getting uncontrollable and of course, I was out of my strength.
Soon I could see the end of the open ground and woah, the dog was no longer barking. How did I not realise that? Freedom from that dog!
The next moment I was sitting on the ground, holding my stomach and still laughing.
Catherine, still being ahead of me stopped, and reached back to me.
"What you said was hilarious, Catherine!" I said, still laughing and trying to grasp my breathe.
"Get up, you idiot! It wasn't funny. I did fart while running, after saying that, but I seriously want to shit and pee!"
This reply made me laugh even more harder.
She pulled me by my hand and dragged me to some distance and then indicated me to stand up.
I got up, still laughing. Not as much as before, but yes. The moment I looked at her face, I again broke into a laughter, automatically.
We both ran towards our room because she really wanted to 'shit and pee' urgently.
As we entered the room, she ran straight towards the washroom and did what she was supposed to.
"Huhhhh!" I heard Catherine saying, as she unlocked the room, indicating how relieved she felt.
It took her literally 6 minutes and few seconds to come out after doing her private job. Yes I was counting the time as I was bored.
"How do you feel Catherine Hunt?" I asked, giving out a small laughter.
"Relaxed!" She dragged the word 'relaxed'.
"I know. I heard that 'huh'!" I giggled. "By the way, what are we supposed to have for dinner?"
"There won't be any food in the cafeteria today, as many students aren't present here. Making food for so less children would be useless. We'll have to manage by ourselves." Catherine replied, hopping on the bean bag.
"Umm ... I have some, or rather many snacks. Will that work?"
"Of course! We are going to have a blast today!"
It was quite dark outside, so we decided to change into our night outfits. We had the snacks and went to sleep.
It was Sunday the next day and the classes would be starting from Monday. So, a holiday tomorrow.
I turned off the lights and went to my bed. Catherine climbed the ladder and went to hers.
We both slept calmly.
