Charlie came down the stairs with the old picnic basket in his hands. It was the same basket you had used on all of your first dates with him. You guys loved to go on picnic dates.

"Charlie, where did you find that?" You asked.

"Oh, the attic. It must've gotten lost when we moved," he said. "I figured maybe today we could go on a picnic? Just me and you?"

"That sounds so sweet," you replied, smiling to yourself. "Where?"

"What about... the river front? At that park we used to go to all the time when we started dating?" He suggested. You nodded and smiled.

"Sounds like fun."

That night, the weather was beautiful. Clear skies and about 75 degrees outside. It felt so nice. it was the perfect night for a picnic date.

You packed a bag of chips, two sandwiches, two apples and a few cookies into the picnic basket before setting the basket in the car.

Charlie was wearing a t-shirt and a pair of shorts and you wore a t-shirt and blue jeans. Charlie packed a blanket and then you both went to the park.

The weather only got prettier as the sun set out of sight. The sky was ribboned with blue, pink and some orange and night set into the little city.

"I love you so much, Y/N," Charlie said, biting into his apple and hugging you closer to himself. You smiled and bit into your apple, too.

"I love you too."

After the sun set, you and Charlie both laid down on your picnic blanket and looked up at the stars as you ate cookies and laughed and brought back memories of your earliest dates.

This was one of the best dates you had ever gone on with Charlie.
