You had been to renew your license a few weeks ago and you had failed your eye exam. The trouble was, that ended up costing you money because now you had to get glasses.

You did not want glasses. You might not have been so upset about it if you'd had a better mindset about it, but you thought glasses just made your face look pudgy and dark.

You came home from the eye doctor with your prescription and now you had the task of choosing from a million shapes, sizes and colors. This was going to take forever.

Charlie came home later and you were sitting at your computer at least trying to get an idea for a shape you thought you might like before you went to try on a bunch of pairs.

"Is it bad?" He asked. You shrugged glumly.

"The glasses will be," you replied.

"I'm talking about your eyes, silly." He saw you weren't in the mood for laughing. "Aw, babe," he said, setting down his water bottle and keys and giving you a little hug, looking over your shoulder at the computer screen. "It won't be bad, you'll just have to get used to the way you look. It'll be different but different doesn't have to be bad. And I'll help," he cheerfully said. You shrugged again.

"It makes my face look crowded," you said.

"That's ridiculous. You're looking at frames that are too dark or big, then. The right pair will be a little accessory, like a nice pair of earrings. They'll accentuate your face just right, and that's when you'll know you picked the perfect pair," he said. "And then you can always choose contacts if you never get used to them."

"I'm not touching my own eyeball," you refused.

"Okay. Well then glasses, I guess. They're more simple and a cheaper investment in the long run if you take good care of them."

Nothing he was saying was really helping and he was kind of starting to catch on to that.

"Is there anything I can say that will make you feel any better?"

"Maybe I should stop thinking about it for the night," you said, shaking your head.

"Okay. And- Okay."

"What?"

"Well I was about to say something else about it but I'll save it for when you want to talk about it," he said, dumping his water bottle out and putting it in the dishwasher.

"Y/N, no matter what glasses you pick out, I'm still going to think you're cute," he said, officially putting the matter to bed for the night. That was usually how he ended a negative conversation about your looks. You nodded. "I'm in love with you no matter what glasses you choose," he said, putting three fingers on your chin and slowly drawing your lips to his own.

"I love you, Char."

"Love you, too," he smiled.
