Wolves of all different ranks gathered around the pack house, heads bowed low as their Alpha furiously shouted out his disappointment.

"So, you mean to tell me that Joon ran off after a fucking rogue and not a single one of you stopped him?! And then to top it off, you let a pregnant Omega go out in search of them?!"

From somewhere in the crowd of bodies, Yugyeom stepped forward, his eyes an amber shade. "None of us could have stopped Namjoon, even if we wanted to, you know that." Hoseok's eyes widened before he clenched his jaw as he turned his head away in an attempt to calm himself.

"With all due respect, Hoseok, this isn't fair to us."

Taking a deep breath, Hoseok shut his eyes and reminded himself of Namjoon's position. Yugyeom was right, very few would have been able to effectively stop Namjoon.

But the fact that no one had tried frustrated him to no end. He sighed, hoping that it would release all of the built up emotions inside him. 'Being hotheaded has never helped anyone.'

Seeing the Alpha back down from his aggravated stance, Yugyeom carried on.

"Namjoon left of his own volition, it's not our duty to save him from himself. And Wooyoung? No one knew were he'd gone off to until the children spoke up."

Hoseok's eyes snapped to meet the beta's, his wide orbs flashing dark red before returning to their honeyed brown.

"It's not your duty? That is exactly what your duty entails, to protect our pack against danger, but instead you allowed Namjoon to leave in a vulnerable state to chase what you yourself described as a monstrosity!"

Somewhere from the back of the crowd a loud voice shouted, breaking the intense stare down that the two were having. "But isn't it kind of your fault for leaving in the first place? I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but all of those 'duties' you would like to name were placed upon us without our consent."

His brows furrowed in confusion, Hoseok couldn't help his fearsome demeanor faltering as he shouted back with force. "What sort of nonsense are you spewing this time, Jackson? This is no time for your games."

People in the crowd parted, making way for Jackson who was pushing his way to the front, ready to speak with the Alpha face to face.

Jackson shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly as everyone surrounding him stared on in shock, some even putting distance between them.

Hoseok frowned deeply at the reaction the Alpha had received from his fellow pack members, catching a few of them sniffing the air around him.

As Hoseok's unforgiving eyes met his own, Jackson scuffed his feet into the dirt and cleared his throat. He avoided eye contact by glancing over the people around him, finding that suspicious glares came from every direction.

"I said correct me if I'm wrong, you guys don't have to look so mad about it."

A small growl sounded, shocking everyone as Yugyeom stormed over to the Alpha with his fist balled at his sides. "Can you be fucking serious for once in your goddamn life?!"

As soon as he became within arms reach, Yugyeom grabbed the Alpha by the collar of his shirt, roughly pulling their faces close together before shoving him away.

"Why the fuck do you smell like that wolf?!"

Hoseok's eyes widened and he made his way over to Jackson who had begun anxiously sniffing at his own shirt. "..Well shit.."

When they were practically chest to chest, Hoseok took a deep breath and a mixture of scents filled his senses, all but one of them being familiar.
