After that night, Kuroo let Kenma do his work and they split ways to go to there own dorms. The following day went by quickly, and Kuroo found himself at Kenma's door once again, the same time as the day previous waiting to be let inside.
Kenma came up to the door tiredly and him and Kuroo said their hello's. They proceeded to go back to Kenma's room and talk while Kenma worked on homework. Once he finished, they decided to go on a walk around the campus.
As they walked around, they came upon their favorite place in the whole campus, the park in front of the library. It was a perfect spot to relax in the sunset by the pond there, in a small gazebo.
"Do you remember the first time we were here? It feels like so long ago." Kenma said, looking into space.
"Yeah, it's one of my favorite memories with you. It was so magical, all the lights that were up around here. It was so relaxing to sit out here and just enjoy it with you right after a long study session." Kuroo responded, reminiscing about one of his favorite times. "It's crazy to think that was only a year ago, so much has happened since then." He continued.
"Well, Kuroo, I have something I really need to tell you..."
"Yes Kenma? You sound so serious, is everything ok?"
"Kuroo, I really hope you don't hate me after I say this, but I— I really like you."
Kuroo was completely dumbfounded. He had no idea that Kenma would drop something like this on him, especially at a place like this. He didn't even know Kenma could like guys until yesterday! How was he supposed to accept that Kenma shared the same feelings towards him that he felt about Kenma? Something must be wrong, is this a dream?
"I-if you don't feel the same way, that's completely fine, y'know what? Forget I said anythin-"
"Kenma, I like you too!" Kuroo exclaimed, he looked almost like he was about to cry with joy and his voice began to get shaky as he stopped thinking and caught Kenma in a tight embrace.
Relieved, Kenma sank into the hug, it felt like home. It felt right, like how everything was always supposed to be. Nothing could be more perfect than this moment, the place where they had shared many happy memories, the feelings that they had both been keeping in for so long shared with one another, there isn't anything that could make this moment any better.
After eating their packed meal under the gazebo, talking to each other about all of the times they almost slipped up, they were in that special place for who knows how long, it felt like just a second before they finished their meals and Kuroo walked Kenma back to his dorm.
"Bye love" Kuroo winked teasingly.
Kenma said "Ugh you're so annoying" and shut the door in his face, but they were both holding back laughter after Kuroo's cheesy remark.
They truly loved each other, Kenma loved how Kuroo was such a hopeless geek, he was always so cheesy but he still was so good looking, everything about him was perfect for Kenma. For Kuroo, he adored how hard working Kenma was while he was still so funny after you get through his harsh exterior.
Kenma, for the first time in weeks, felt good about himself, like he had done something right.
After that day, they both stayed up all night, thinking about each other and how happy they were that everything worked out.
