Chapter 16

Finally the vacation started. As Saint told Sai earliest, he didn't return home. And the best buddy Zon is, he also didn't go home to accompany Saint in the excuse of upcoming exams just after the vacation. Saint was lying on his bad sadly on the first morning of the vacation. Most of the rooms were empty as they returned home. Zon couldn't bear to see Saint so upset. So he dragged Saint outside to cheer him up.

At first Saint was reluctant to go out but Zon dragged him to the safari and as the child he was, he succeeded to cheer Saint up within a few minutes. Saint saw the effort his friend was giving to cheer him up. He was moved and participated actively with Zon. They had lunch outside and also had ice-cream. When they returned to dorm, it was almost dark.

When they were about to enter the guard stopped them.
"Are any of you Saint?"
"Yes I'm. What happened?"
"Someone came to meet you."
"Me? Who??"
"He said he is your guardian."
Saint's heart skipped a beat. So does that mean his dad??
"Zon can you accompany me?? I'm scared..."
"It's ok. I'll be with you. Let's go"

Entering the waiting room, they saw a man was sitting back facing them. When he heard sounds of footsteps he turned around and then
"You?"
"You??"

"Uncle Sai, Zon do you both know each other??"
"Yes"
"No"
Zon and Sai answered almost same time. Zon's face fell when he heard Sai declined to recognise him even when he clearly remembered him. Saint was confused.
"Yes or no??"
"I don't know him." Sai quickly replied.
"Oh... Uncle Sai why are you here?"
"To take you back home"
"What?? Didn't I tell you I won't return this time?"
"Saint your dad isn't well"
"Wha-what ha-happe--ned to him?" Saint asked nervously with worry filled eyes.
"I don't know what happened between you both. But after you left he didn't eat properly or even got proper sleep. He indulged himself in work. And after working till late night he drinks a lot everyday. The doctor already told him to stop this lifestyle or else it might be fatal for him."
"Doesn't he have a girlfriend to take care of him?" Saint said stubbornly.
"They broke up."
"What? Why? How??"
"I don't know."
"He must be in despair because of the breakup. You should contact his girlfriend"
"No Saint. Trust me. His girlfriend pestered him everyday to patch up. But he never even looked at her "
"Then why is he like this?"
"Shouldn't you know?"
"Wait for me here. I'll pack my luggage and return with you."

Saint ran to his room forgetting about Zon as he was really worried for Zee. He started packing his things quickly.

Meanwhile at the waiting room

"So you don't know me, huh?"
"No did we meet before??"
"You clearly recognised me at first. So why acting now??"

With that Zon dashed to his room. Saint was almost done with his packing when Zon entered the room. Saint saw the sad expression of Zon and immediately became guilty for ignoring him unknowingly.
"What happened Zon?"
"Nothing. Are you done packing?" Asked Zon with a half smile.
"Almost.. what will you do now Zon?"
"I don't know. Maybe return home??"
"Ok.. pack your clothes. I'll tell uncle Sai to arrange for your return."
"No need" said Zon coldly.
"You both know each other, don't you?"
Zon kept silent.
"Come on Zon. I thought we're best friends??"
"He is the man I told you about"
"What?? That means you love uncle Sai??"
Zon nod quietly.
"But why did he refused to recognize you?"
"May be because I'm just one of the one night stands for him?"
"I don't think so. I remember he was stealing glances from you when we were talking."
"Then why??"
"I'm not sure. But let's find out. You've done a lot of things for me. Now it's my turn."
"What will you do??"
"Pack your bags quickly"

They both finished packing and went downstairs. Sai was confused to see Zon with luggage.
"Uncle Sai Zon stayed in the dorm just for me. Since I'm leaving he definitely can't live here alone. So I forced him to pack his bags."
"Don't tell me he's going to your house with you??" (To become a third wheeler) Sai whispered the last portion.
"No no... You brought a car, right?"
"Ye-yeah" Sai replied unsure of Saint's motive.
"Perfect... Just drop me at the airport and take Zon to his home"
"What?" Both Sai and Zon exclaimed.
"Zon please don't say no. It's the least I can do for you. Uncle Sai please take him."
"But what about you?"
"I'll call home to send a car to the airport. Is it ok??"
"Okay" Sai agreed reluctantly. Both Saint and Zon gave each other a triumphant smile which was unnoticed by Sai.

Sai dropped Saint to airport and asked Zon to enter his address in the GPS.
"It's really a long journey. I understand if you don't wanna take me. You don't have to force yourself just because Saint said so"
"It's not like I'm forcing myself. I also want to but..."
"So now you remember me??"
"I remembered you all along"
"Then why??" Zon's voice broke at the end.
Sai stared at Zon for some time and then hung his head low. After that he spoke in a very low voice which would be unnoticed by Zon if he didn't pay attention.
"I'm scared"
"Huh?? Why phi?"
"I-i-i don't know. I couldn't forget you after our meeting. I even tried to find you after I visited Pattaya again... This feeling scares me... It's all new for me"
"Phi look at me please."
Sai couldn't lift his head. Zon placed his index finger under Sai's chin and forced him to look into his eyes.
"I like you phi" with that Zon kissed Sai. Sai was dumbfounded at first but kissed back gradually. But when he came back to his senses he pushed Zon slowly.
"We can't do that."
"But why phi?? I like you and you also have feelings for me.. then what's the problem??"
"The age gap... I'm scared Zon. I'm not ready to bear the pain like Zee."
"What?? You know about them??"
"Yeah... Zee also loves Saint but they are both in pain. And I'm more scared after witnessing their state."
"Because they both are idiot phi. And you're making the same mistake"
"What mistake?"
"I thought you are smarter phi. However tell me why they are in pain?"
"I don't know.... Maybe because... Because they are apart from each other as they can't embrace their feelings for each other." Sai's eyes widened when he realised the problem. He was also making the same mistake by ignoring his feelings for Zon. He shouldn't do that especially after Zon confessed to him. This way they will be hurt more.
"Now you understand phi?? Then what's your decision??"
"Let's date??" Before Zon could reply, Sai kissed him vigorously. Zon kissed back with a smile in his lips.

[So this was kinda different as I realized I've been ignoring our cute side couple and I really have to focus on them. So please comment your thoughts on the chapter... It's like that the story has a few chapters left so I tried to show their relationship development within this chapter. Do you feel it's very rush and I should have developed it slowly?? If you are fine with this chapter then we'll see the ZeeSaint couple from next chapters with a tiny bit cute moments from Sai Zon couple.
