EIGHTEEN
_____Suna laid over the bumpy bench at the place where he usually slept though this time, his eyes were wide open and he couldn't seem to bring himself to fall asleep. His eyed stared up at the Cherry Blossom Tree in boredom, and the difference that he noticed today was that it didn't seem to have as much flowers as it did just a month ago.
He closed his eyes shut once again, waiting for a few minutes in hopes of eventually fall asleep but to no avail.
He released a groan before sitting up, rubbing the back of his neck and running his fingers through the soft baby hair that was growing on the lower back of his head in an attempt to sooth his irritation.
He eventually just stood up and walked wherever his feet brought him mindlessly. His feet slapped lazily against the white tiled floors while reaching the flight of stairs that led to the second floor, sighing along the way through his small journey.
Upon reaching the designated floor, he walked across the halls filled with people that were unfamiliar to him except for some that were part of the volleyball team. The dark-skinned third-year approached him with confusion plastered on his face.
"Suna? What are you doing here?" Aran Ojiro asked, making the second-year pause on his journey towards the class that was by the end of the hall.
"I'm visiting a friend." He answered blankly.
Ojiro parted his lips and his eyes visibly widened in surprise at his teammate's words. He didn't quite expect him to be the social butterfly type, if anything, he thought the complete opposite.
He cleared his throat then said unsurely, "Oh? Well, have fun then?"
"Thanks." He answered flatly once again before continuing on his journey towards the seventh class. His feet stopped abruptly when he reaches a room that was almost empty except for the only person that he expected to be there.
He cleared his throat then called out, "Hey,"
The large piece of paper laid out over the tiled floors of Zumi's classroom with its edges curled upwards because she had rolled it in order to bring it to school. She was already able to draw the draft of the first background and had already painted half of it the day before, though along the way, she lost the will to paint such a large picture just by herself.
But when she heard the familiar voice of her friend, her spirits immediately brightened, though it wasn't obvious to him.
"Hey, Rintarou." She greeted back with a small smile on her face. He nodded then sat on the floor right beside her, staring at the painting that she created. Half of it was obviously not colored yet but what surprised him once again was that it looked strangely different from what he usually saw her drew.
Her painting was an image of a large structure that was filled with beige-ish paint. Intricate details of little statues that were placed by the drawings of columns, making it look like a royal temple from Greece. The skies were already completely painted with white clouds and she was even able to capture the thin silver linings with a pinkish hue to define its romantic sunset theme.
She played with her fingers and cautiously stole a glance at the boy who looked sucked in at the painting she made – there were even shadows to make the structures look more three-dimensional. She then asked quietly, "So... is it nice?"
He snapped his head and stared at her incredulously, "What do you mean 'does it look nice'? It looks more than nice. It's really... r-really beautiful."
She nodded her head gratefully though the frown that appeared on her face contradicted her previous actions then began saying, "Well... I just thought the statues at the back looked a bit deformed since I'm not a master at placing shadows and lighting on bodies." She paused to inspect her painting a little closer, "To me, it looks sort of I don't know – plain?"
