Chapter 4: Dinner Pt. 1

Manhattan, New York:

"Mari what was that?" Armani asked as he and his brother walked across the parking lot to their dad's car.

"Man dad been telling you him and mom gone be together all to life, which means he been telling you that lie since before I was born, let mom do her man why she gotta share?"

"Pops gone get with mom and come live with us nigga he just told me this when I told him about Coach Will."

"I just want mama to be happy man, and pops don't light up her eyes no more. It seem like she just zone out of reality when he's around like she tryina escape bein in the same room as him. I love pops, I don't knock him for it who could choose between mom and Robin? Nobody could. Let it go man pops ain't ever leaving Robin that's his wife." Amari said shrugging before he got in the car.

"So what's goin on with that?" Robin asked actually thinking Will and Justice would be a good match.

"Ion know." Amir shrugged.

"Coach like moms and I invited him to dinner cause she need a man." Amari said making Robin chuckle, Armani not Amir liked that.

"I love you baby boy you're so adorable."

"Thanks Robz I love you more, aye guess what?" Amari said excitedly.

"What?" Robin said turning to look at him.

"I asked Normani out, and she said yes." Amari bragged and Robin screeched.

"Did you get the roses like I told you?"

"And I sang to her and everything, won her right over." Amari said with proudest smile on his face. People teased him a lot for wearing his heart on his sleeve but he never cared. That's what people loved the most about him, he never cared what nobody thought about him. He lived the way he wanted without a care in the world.

"You got Normani to go out with you? Boy bye she don't even date people younger than her." Armani said laughing.

"I pulled her and imma keep her. Imma make her my girlfriend and when I do ion wanna hear shit." Amari said

"If you pull Normani I'll let mom date Coach Will." Armani said smacking his lips. He didn't believe he could pull Normani, she was a senior and Amari was a sophomore. She was popular and Amari was lowkey, she could have whoever she wanted and Amari was too corny for her.

"That's a bet." Amari said holding his hand out and Armani shook his brother's hand.

"You don't even know this man Mari how you just gone push yo mama off on him?" Amir asked his son.

"I wasn't pops, I invited him to dinner to get to know me and Armani because he is the coach and he should know his players. Besides this man is leaving his hometown to live to Houston we're all he knows in Houston as of right now. Why not make him feel welcomed?" Amari asked, he didn't care for his father's opinion.

"That's true." Robin said smiling. "This my baby, him so cute." She said reaching back pinching his cheeks making kissy faces. He blushed not caring about the affection she was showing.
