"Hello, I'm here to visit someone." Seokjin smiled at the nurse.
"Name and relationship?" She didn't bother to look up as she clicked away at the computer keyboard.
"Park Jimin. I'm a friend of his." She nodded uninterestedly.
"Room 580." Seokjin turned around and started to make his way towards Jimin's room.
Will he even remember me? Why did Lucifer send me? Why now?
He knocked at the door and waited to see if anyone answered.
"Seokjin? It is you! Wow, you've grown!"
"Mrs. Park? It's been too long. Can I come in?"
"Yes, of course. Jimin, someone came to see you."
Seokjin walked in but frowned when he saw Jimin.
He was on the bed, pale, tubes and needles stuck to him, machines surrounding him.
"You came to see him, but he's been in a coma for a year already." Mrs. Park teared up, "I can't believe you found us. Jimin had been saying that he was waiting for you and I thought you had lied to him."
"I would never. It just took me longer to find him." Seokjin walked towards his bedside and sat down on the chair where he guessed Mrs. Park had been sitting.
"I'm sorry that you came at such a bad time." Mrs. Park wiped away a tear that fell, "He's getting off life support today." Seokjin looked at her in shock.
"W-What do you mean? Today?" Seokjin panicked.
"Yes, he's been like this for a year with no signs of him getting better. I think it's time to let my baby go." She frowned.
"Can I have a minute with him? To say goodbye? And you should go down and get something to eat." Seokjin looked at her in the eyes, she was suddenly in a trance and left the room.
He stood up and stared down at his face, "Jimin? What am I supposed to do? I need you by my side, but you're in this state." Seokjin sighed as he caressed Jimin's cheek. "How do I become your savior?" Seokjin sat back down, defeated, and thought about it.
"Jimin, it's going to die. Just put it out of its misery." Seokjin groaned.
"No, it'll survive. It has to continue to fight." Jimin held the little bird gently as they walked towards Jimin's house.
"Whatever, don't start crying once he dies."
"Why are you crying? I told you it was going to die." Seokjin looked at the dead bird in the cardboard box.
"I thought he was going to survive." Jimin sobbed, "Why did he have to die? Did I not take good care of him?"
Seokjin looked at the bird and picked it up, without thinking about it he brought it next to his lips and blew.
Suddenly, the bird started to sing, forcing Jimin to look up immediately.
"How did you do that? It was dead." Jimin looked at a shocked Seokjin.
"I-I think it was just asleep. I have to go. Here." Seokjin gave him the bird back and ran to his own house.
Jimin nor Seokjin brought it up ever again, but neither of them could forget what happened that day.
Seokjin flinched and woke up. He had fallen asleep and was still in that uncomfortable chair.
He stood up and took in a deep breath, causing all the machines to turn off. He took out the tube that was lodged in Jimin's mouth, bent down until he was extremely close to Jimin and blew.
Seokjin quickly stood up straight and waited.
Nothing.
Was he too late? Oh, well, you can't save everyone.
He turned towards the door when he heard a gasp followed by coughing. Seokjin stood facing the door, he didn't want to turn around.
"I knew that you brought that bird back from the dead." Seokjin turned to face Jimin and smiled.
"Well, you caught me. I came to-"
"I know. It took you long enough." Jimin got up and stretched. "That was awful."
"I have clothes in my car, here." Seokjin handed Jimin his coat and they started to walk out.
"We'll get caught." Jimin hissed.
"I just killed you and brought you back to life, getting caught is not going to happen." Seokjin laughed and opened the door.
