Chapter 16

After having his talk with you back at the UA dormitories, one thing became clear to him, he was in love with you.

Yes, it surprised him too. He wasn't sure when he started to feel this way, but he was sure that it had been a while now. Maybe he had loved you for a long time he just didn't realize.

He thought of going straight home after checking up on you, but his mind was a mess. Even now while he's flying above the town, hoping that some fresh air would clear his head, he couldn't stop thinking about you.

What would happen if he told you how he felt? Would you accept it?

'I think she would. I could see it in her eyes. She also has feelings for me.'

'But what if you're wrong, bird brain? What if she only sees you as a big brother?!'

'She was staring at my mouth! Why else would she do that?!'

'She was staring at your mouth because you had something on your teeth! Did you even brush this morning?!'

He unconsciously grazed his teeth with his tongue. His internal discussion with himself was starting to irritate him.

Keigo:

"F***k!"

He shouted in the air before he made a beeline for home. He needed to talk to someone before he goes crazy and he knew just the person to turn to.

Upon arriving at your family's estate, Keigo quickly looked for your mother. He found her sitting on a garden chair reading a book.

The sight of your mother brought calmness in his heart and he knew that your mother will understand what he's feeling right now.

He didn't bother announcing himself seeing as your mother was engrossed in the book on her lap. Keigo approached her chair and bent over to give her a gentle kiss on the cheek which startled her.

Keigo:

"Hey, mom. Can I talk to you?"

He said with a soft smile as he took a seat across the garden table in front of your mother.

Mom:

"Keigo! I didn't hear you come in. What is it, sweetheart?"

She said in her sweet voice as she closed the book and laying it on the table.

Before Keigo could speak, one of the helpers approached them, asking if she could get them anything.

Mom:

"Yes, bring us sweet tea and the Strawberry Mochi's that I bought yesterday, please. I think we're going to be here for a while."

The helper bowed in acknowledgment and went inside to prepare what your mother requested.

Her soft eyes returned to look at Keigo who was looking in the distance with his chin resting on his fist. Judging by your foster brother's face, she knew what he was about to say.

Mom:

"So, what's bothering you, dear?"

Keigo was snapped out of his thoughts by your mom's sweet and gentle voice.

He turned his head to look at her, sighing as he leaned forward, resting his forearms on his thighs before speaking.

Keigo:

"I don't know how to say this mom, but...um..."

It was nerve-wracking to tell your mom about his feelings for you.
