Chapter 17

Monday finally came and you've never been so nervous. How will this day go?

After what happened over the weekend, you were not sure if you could face Keigo today without feeling awkward.

During your train ride, your heart was beating faster and faster as you near your destination. Cold sweats were beginning to appear on your forehead.

Once inside the agency and in your hero costume, you try to calm your nerves as you stood outside Keigo's office, taking a few deep breathes before knocking and opening the door. You were expecting big red wings to greet you. However, this was not what you saw.

Y/N:

"Genkaku-san?"

To your surprise Keigo's assistant, Rina Genkaku, stood behind the desk with her hands behind her back.

Rina:

"Good morning, H/N and Red Riot."

She greeted you with a stern smile and motioned with her hand for you to take a seat while she remained standing.

You and Kirishima bowed as a response to her greeting and occupied the chairs.

Kirishima:

"Where is Hawks? Is he on a special mission?"

You looked at your best friend, wondering the same thing, and then looking back at Rina.

Rina:

"Yes. The HPSC gave Hawks an assignment. He won't be back for a while. But he did assign one of the sidekicks to accompany you on your internship."

She explained while handing you a long brown folder.

You frowned at this news, but Rina Genkaku didn't seem to notice. However, Kirishima being your best friend, noticed the slight change in your expression.

Ever since you were little you always hated when Keigo leaves for a mission.

Shouldn't you be relieved that you didn't have to face him now? But alas, the pain you were feeling due to his absence cannot be denied.

Even though you dreaded a confrontation, you still wanted to see him.

Rina:

"This will be your assignment for today. There have been reports of a pickpocket lurking in the streets. You know what to do."

Both of you nodded and rose to your feet to head out. Before you disappeared out the door, you heard Rina call you.

Rina:

"By the way, H/N. Hawks asked me to tell you that he'll be back before you know it."

She gave you a wink and a smile. Your brows furrowed at her gesture until you remembered what her quirk was, Perception. 

This quirk allows her to sense whatever a person is hiding or whatever their intentions are just by looking in their eyes. Though it's not a flashy quirk, it is definitely useful in gathering data's and interrogating suspects.

'F***k!'

Cussing under your breath. You couldn't believe you forgot her quirk! Now she knows that you have feelings for Keigo! Should you tell her not to say anything? But knowing Rina, she would never stick her nose in someone else's business.
