“You call this a house?” I asked.
“I didn’t tell you that I know a HOUSE. I said I know an abandoned BUILDING” George replied. There were just four walls and nothing else. No rooms, no shelves, no toilets, nothing. Just four walls. It was like the walls were made separately and then attached together.
“What do we do now?” Eva asked.
“We wait” George replied. It was about seven or seven thirty. I did not know correctly because guessing time at night was difficult than guessing it at day. It was dark outside and cold inside. Thankfully we had taken some of the blankets from the house we stayed in Hinckly. I took one and wrapped it around me. We waited for a long time. Finally George said
“Look, they’ve come home.” I peered through the window on the wall. There was a small light glowing inside the house next to us. Adam and the others were in that house. Suddenly Adam went to the top of the house and tied some piece o parchment in the leg of the pigeon and let it fly.
“He is sending information to Sebastin, isn’t he?” I asked.
“Yes” George replied.
“But what did he write, George?” I asked.
“He wrote the miserable condition of the people we saw out there. He wrote that we must help these people and in three days of time the war should start” George replied. The time was about 9.30. Eva was sleeping in a corner of the room. The lights were out in that house too and I was sure that they were also asleep. I asked George
“George, everything seems to be going right. But why are you working for Augustin? And why does that women look exactly like Eva?”
“You still don’t understand Oliver? Eva is not Eva. Her name is Elisa and both of them are the same person but…” before he could finish we heard a loud bang on their door.
“What’s happening?” I asked.
“This is the most important part that you must see. You wait here. I’ll wake Eva and bring her here” he said and went to wake her up. I peered through the opening and saw a man banging at their door saying
“Anybody home? I have some information.” But I was sure that was a trick because I could see some forty to fifty men standing behind many buildings that were surrounding the house.
“George, we have to do something” I said.
“No! Oliver. If you help them now you could change the entire future and I can never explain the problems that may arise if you mess up with time.”
“Then what do we do? Simply watch!?” I asked.
“Yes!” he said
“Oh! That’s insane”
“Oliver, I can understand your mind. But we can do nothing right now and that is good for all of us in this situation” he finished. Then a sound came from inside the house.
“Who is it?” it asked. I was sure that it was Elisa’s voice because the sound that came was a lady voice and the only woman in that gang was Elisa.
“I’m an informer of Martin and I have some information to tell you” the man at the door said. Then a small lantern was lit inside the house and it moved towards the door. The man outside the door made his sword ready. The door knob clicked and as soon as the door opened the man hit Elisa’s head so hard. We heard a little scream and then she fainted. The man went in. the other men who were hiding behind the buildings came out and then went into their house. Two men caught Elisa’s hands and lifted her. I thought they were going to take her away but another man caught her neck and clashed her head on the glass of the window. They put immense force that the glass shattered as her head hit the glass. Her face came out of the window and it was covered in blood.
“George, we have to do something” I screamed. He just shook his head in disagreement and then caught my hand tightly to make sure that I didn’t run away to help. On hearing the sound of the shattering glass the others woke up. There was no chance for them to stand these men. Adam’s side was only a gang of three and there were at least fifty soldiers. Three versus fifty. How is that even possible? Now many lanterns were lit and I could clearly see what was going on. The man who hit Elisa charged at Adam. But Adam took his sword in time to defend that attack. All the fifty of them started to attack. Martin and George were also ready with their swords. All the three of them were pushed to the corner of the house. It was Adam who first attacked a soldier. Then he went ahead slashing each and everyone. In that time Martin wrote something in a piece of parchment and whistled. An eagle came to him and got that parchment from him and flew away. Then both George and Martin started to fight. They fought for a while. As there was huge crowd fighting in a small space it was difficult to tell who was attacking and who was being attacked. After a while Martin was struck in a corner. Four soldiers surrounded him. One of them said
“How many times we have to warn you for protesting against the king, Martin? But I regret that your death is so fast. I had a different idea for you. I thought I could half burn you and then flog you in the same burned spots. That would have been complete pleasure” and then he raised his sword. But Martin defended it. as he was surrounded the soldier who stood at the back pierced him. I could see the sword piercing him and coming out from the other side. Then both the men at the sides did the same. And at last the man who stood at the front said
“Say to your brothers that I said hello to them” and then he pierced him in the stomach. Then all the four plucked their swords at the same time. Martin rolled in his spot and then fell to the floor. He was dead. The past George saw this and he came to attack the soldier. But before he could a man hit him with the hilt from the back at his neck. The past George fell to the floor. He tried to get up but before he could the soldier in front of him placed one leg on his back and pressed him to the ground. He raised his sword, ready to pierce him.
“George let me go. I can’t simply watch this. You are about to die” I said and tried to free my hand from him. But I couldn’t. So I just got up and shouted
“Hey, you fool. Look here.” That was enough to take the attention of the soldier from George. I was sure that he saw me. Before he could do anything the man who knocked Elisa out said
“You fool, what are you doing? King Augustin has ordered us to bring them alive. Just knock him out.” But the soldier was staring at our direction and he hit the past George again with his sword’s hilt and knocked him out. Then he got up and told something to two of his soldiers. His actions involved pointing at us. And the two soldiers went to the door and came out of the house. George took out the time travel powder and opened the portal. But the time was very short. When George entered the portal three soldiers entered our place. George urged us. I got in and then Eva also got in. the soldier jumped in our direction but couldn’t catch us as our portal closed. We were in pitch black. Then the exit portal opened and we walked towards it. As we came towards it our armors started coming back to us. And finally we were back in the king Sebastin’s tent, exactly in the same place where we started.
