26. Believe

"Again!" shouted Professor Jong making Eunhyuk sigh. He and Donghae had been practcing the same step for hours now, and Jong still didn't think that they were doing it right.

Eunhyuk glanced at Donghae, he looked exhausted but there was a determined gleam in his eyes. Hyukjae sighed, he felt sore and way exhausted than ever before. His bones felt like lead and even breathing seemed like a huge effort.

"EUNHYUK!!" screamed the enraged Professor coming towards him. "How many times do I need to make sure that you stay FOCUSED?!!"

Donghae gave him a sympathetic smile. He knew  Hyukjae had been up late at night to make his moves perfect and smooth, but what concerned Donghae was the dark circles under his eyes and the constant coughing that he sometimes had.

Hyukjae tried one more time to move his body into a spin when a searing pain shot through him and his legs gave out below. Eunhyuk was vaguely aware that he was coughing and he heard Donghae and a few others come running towards him.

"Eunhyuk!" he heard Donghae say his name, maybe ten or fifteen times, but Hyukjae could  hear only a constant muted ringing inside his ears making him feel like he was under water.

His whole body heaved as he began coughing again, this time when Eunhyuk looked down, he saw a fine spray of blood on the floor.

It was the only thing he saw before his exhausted body slumped down unconscious on to the ground.

Donghae, and his mother sat on the chairs that were near hospital wards. The first thing he had done when he got his senses together was to call her and now she sat next to him, stroking his hair.

Donghae couldn't forget the way Eunhyuk fell on the floor, his whole world shattered around as he had kept screaming out his name in pure desperation. Eunhyuk had looked at him once before he had doubled up and coughed up a fine spray of blood...what happened afterwards was almost like a dream to Donghae. He didn't know which part was more terrifying; the part where Hyukjae fainted or the part where he had been standing there unable to do anything...

He felt a little calm as his mother stroked his head, but a huge sob escaped from his lips.

"You love him don't you??" asked his mother softly and Donghae nodded mutedly.

"I knew...that day you first introduced him to me Donghae, the way you were looking at him was more than friendship" said his mother and Donghae stared ahead while silent tears fell down from his face.

"He suits you Donghae..and I know that he loves you too" said his mother and Donghae glanced up at her. But before he could say anything, he saw Eunhyuk's mother with a tall, broad man which Donghae assumed that was Hyukjae's fatherq come running towards them.

He did look fearsome...

Eunhyuk's mother came up to him and pulled him into a hug while wipping his his tears with one hand.

"Glad that you were here till we came" she whispered gratefully.

"It's ok" said Donghae "I knew you had to come from a long way"

"Who is this Deokboon?" asked the man and Donghae imediately bowed.

"This is Lee Donghae" she said while placing a hand trustingly on his shoulder. "And this is Mrs. Lee, his mother"

"Nice to meet you" said Eunhyuk's dad shaking Donghae's hand in a firm, official way which didn't help him to calm down his already strained nerves.

"We heard what happened and we raced along as fast as we could" said Deokboon; her voice wavering. "I hope my baby is ok"

"Don't worry" said Donghae's mother hugging her soothingly.
"From what Donghae tells me, Eunhyuk is pretty strong, he can fight this"

Eunhyuk's mother gave them a watery smile and nodded her head.

Donghae saw Eunhyuk's father being unusually silent. He was sitting on one of the chairs but his shoulders were slumped. Donghae went and sat down next to him and felt that the man's shoulders were slightly shaking.

He is crying! thought Donghae in facination.

"Honey we will be right back" said Donghae's mother and left with Eunhyuk's mom.

"Right" said Donghae while still staring at the broken man next to him. He slowly kept his hand on the man's sholder and gently patted him.

Hyukjae's dad glanced up, with tear filled eyes. He sighed and looked at Donghae,

"How he must hate me" he said slowly.  "I shouldn't have yelled at him like that"

Donghae didn't say anything, letting him spill out his emotions freely without disturbance.

"I want Eunhyuk to be happy" said his father in a broken voice, "I want him to be like his father"

"Eunhyuk is like you" said Donghae gently "but with a slight difference"

Eunhyuk's farther went on looking at him, and Donghae carefully chose his words when he spoke,

"Eunhyuk is the most liveliest  person I've ever met in my whole life, he is like fire and he has a fearless spirit but he is sensitive...very sensitive"

Hyukjae's father nodded, "I see it now" he said "how much he tries to impress us, how hard he tries-"

Here he broke down into tears "I'm proud of him" he said furiously. "I will do anything to make him understand that I love him"

"Why don't you say that to him?" asked Donghae "Im sure he'll be really happy to hear that"

"I will" said his father sounding slightly desperate "I certainly will"

When his mom and Deokboon appeared, the double doors opened and a doctor came out of the room.

"Don't worry" he said "Hyukjae's condition is stable now although it was difficult at first, have he been exhausted or stressed lately?" asked the doctor.

"He was Doctor" said Donghae "he was practicing late at night and sometimes till the morning"

The doctor nodded as if made sense "it seems that due to over work, his immunity had weakened and caused his throat to bleed, there's no harm to rest of his body thankfully" he said and Donghae heard Eunhyuk's mother let out her breath in relief.

"He is awake now" he said "Does anyone want to talk to him? we can allow two visitors"

"I will go" said Eunhyuk's farther; getting up "I need to speak to him...alone"
