Chapter 10 Peaceful Sleep

Author's POV

There was a comfortable silence in Big Mama as the four teens relaxed. Well, some were more relaxed than others. Y/N and Link were taking a nap using Dirk as their pillow. And of course, Dirk didn't mind this at all. He relished in the fact that his squirt was comfortable enough to fall asleep on him. 

Quint looked behind to the back seat to see Y/N snuggled up against Dirk. Quint then started to glare at Dirk with his fist clenched behind his back. Dirk looked away from Y/N to see Quint glaring at him. Dirk just smirked. "So the pipsqueak is jealous." Dirk thought. Dirk then slowly moved Y/N so that she wasn't leaning against him anymore, and gently picked her up. He then placed her in his lap so that she was caged between his arms with her head snuggled against his chest.

Dirk then once again looked at Quint with a victory smirk on his face. Quint just glared at him, harder. But both boys froze when they saw Y/N moving. Y/N mumbled something and situated herself so that she had her head was lying in the crook of Dirk's neck. Both boy's face's held a gentle smile. "She's so cute." they both thought.

Once Jake had finally snapped out of his dream of Y/n's head floating around in space while he sang. He noticed Y/N laying against Dirk and he full-on stepped on the breaks. Making everyone including Dirk and Y/N jerk forward.

(P.S I found that scene really disturbing)

Quint slammed against the dashboard with a yelp. While thankfully Dirk was able to brace himself against the seat ahead of him with one arm. While being able to hold the still sleeping Y/n in the other. Link, on the other hand, was pissed. 

He slammed his adorable tiny head against his master's shoulder. He let out a little squeak in discomfort but then turned his head towards Y/N. Once he saw that she was still asleep, he let out a little huff. But then got red glowing anime eyes and looked straight at Jack.

Jack was about to yell at Dirk when suddenly a shiver went up his spine. He gulped then slowly turned around to see Link glaring holes into his head. Link was about to jump and bite Jack's nose when he suddenly felt someone pat his head. 

Link turned his head ready to kill whoever stopped him from getting his revenge. When he saw his sleepy master with half-lidded eyes slowly petting his head. Link swacked happily and started purring and rubbing against Y/N's head. Y/N continued to pet Link as she gave a big yawn.

Quint and Dirk glared at Jack as they realized that he was the one to wake her up. Jack gulped, actually concerned for his life. 

Y/N's POV

I felt myself jerk forward at a fast speed but quickly fell asleep. 'No need to wake up quite yet' I said to myself. I then snuggled more into my warm pillow and fell asleep. But not even a moment later I heard a growl. I peeped an eye open and saw that Link was being a little grumpy. I then did what I do every time a creature is grumpy. I patted him on the head.

And just like that, he was a purring cute cat-like monster once again. 

Once he was calmed down I looked around at my surroundings and noticed that we were still in Big Mama. I took a big yawn and noticed that I was laying on something warm. I looked behind me to see a very smug Dirk. "DIRK what the heck was I doing on your lap?"   I exclaimed as I scrambled off his lap into the side seat. 

"What? You looked pretty comfortable there on my lap Y/N. Plus I couldn't just let you get a neck cramp, sleeping in this truck." Dirk said with a smirk at the beginning but soon turned to a blush towards the end of his sentence. 

I just smiled at his concern for me.

I then turned my attention back to Jack and starred at him. "Jack" I said in a very serious voice. He looked at me nervously and said "yes?"

 I kept a straight face while saying "You better have a good reason for waking me up"

Jack gulped and rubbed the back of his. "I was......... about to ask Dirk about June. Ya that's it" Jack said in a nervous kind of way. I just shrugged my shoulders and leaned back against the seat. 'He is such a bad liar' I thought to myself. 

"So you saw June? How was she" asked Jack in an excited tone. I just continued to look out the window as Jack started driving again. I once again dulled out their conversation.

I have a very short attention span. 'Maybe that's why I get along with animals so much' I said to myself. 

'I wonder if I should visit Celestio soon. I haven't seen him since I met Jack' I mumbled to myself.

(Remeber this name. It is very important in future chapters)

But before I could have another thought to myself. I felt the whole Truck he pushed forward by an explosion. "Jack what the heck was that" I yelled. "He he, I might have been so worried about June that I sort of bumped into a gas station and blew it up. No big deal" he said with a fake laugh voice. "Well now it is a big deal because we are low on gas" I said while pointing to the beeping dashboard.

"Hmm where might we procure some around here" Quint said sarcastically while glaring at Jack. "Ugh, I never should have agreed to hang with you two, Y/n yes but you two no" Dirk said while groaning

I just smirked. "Well this is definenly a interesting adventure isn't it Link." I said while running my fingers down this back. Link just looked at me with a 'Really?' look. I just laughed as I waited for us to get to the treehouse.

Once Jack pulled in through the wood fence and parked Big Mama. All three of us got out. 

I then smiled and said "It's nice to be home".
