Mirajane POV

<<Day 7 of mating season>>

Oh my... It had been almost a week since both Erza and I took on the job of watching over Laxus and every single one of his movements. Seriously, I really couldn't had been any more bored than I was at that moment, because contrary to what you may believe, everything was perfectly normal with him! Almost as if Dragon Slayer Mating Season hadn't affected him in the slightest.

In any case, right now both Erza and I were at a nearby old rustic town and above the ceiling of a medium-sized building while still keeping a close look on the lightning dragon slayer who was in fact resting inside the room of a modest hostal.

It was almost 10 am. And up to that point, nothing out of the ordinary had even started to take place. "Well, I guess we followed him for nothing" I muttered while sweat-dropping with a smile. "Mating season ends today and Laxus hasn't done anything weird"

"Yeah, but it doesn't make any sense" Erza replied while relaxing a bit.

"Who knows, Erza? Maybe Levy was wrong about this week. Maybe there wasn't anything to worry about since the beginning"

"Maybe... But what about what he has been doing this whole time?" she then added while turning to look at me. "Laxus has been carrying suspicious boxes and packages from one place to another the entire week! Isn't that strange?"

"Mmmh... Well, you are right on that"

At that moment, a quick and unexpected lightning suddenly crash right next to us in a powerful beam of light. "Right on what?" a mysterious male voice suddenly asked as both Erza and I turned to one side only to realize such voice belonged to none other than Laxus himself. "Now... Would you care to tell me why have you been following me around this whole week?"

Both Erza and I remained in shock and unable to reply due to the fact that Laxus had been totally aware of us since the very beginning! Jeez... And here I thought we were being completely stealthy.

At any rate, after finally calming down and getting down from the building's roof along with Laxus, we 3 began walking throw the wide streets of the town we were at while speaking about some very important matters...

...

...

...

Well... just one matter to be precise...

"A lustful beast? Me?" Laxus asked emotionlessly after having heard to our explanation about Dragon Slayer Mating Season.

"That's right" Erza bluntly replied. "We've been following you because master was worried you might end up mating with some random stranger you didn't even know"

"Well, that's certainly ridiculous... I haven't felt not even one miserable change in me. So, I guess either Levy or that dragon slayer book you told me about is wrong"

"Yeah... that was probably it" I added with an innocent grin, only to receive another question from Laxus's side mere moments later.

"Wait... Why didn't you just tell all of us about mating season in the first place?" the dragon slayer asked. "That way I could've been aware of what was going on"

"You know? I've been asking myself that too" Erza replied while turning to look at me in search of an answer, which of course I did provide.

"It was Lucy and Levy's petition" I bluntly claimed. "They were scared of hurting the dragon slayers' feelings if they knew they had to stay away from their dearest person for a whole week... specially Natsu and Gajeel of course"

"I see..." Laxus finally added with a serious expression.

At that moment however, my extreme curiosity finally beat me. And as such, I finally ended up asking Laxus about his reason for being absent at the guild for almost an entire week.

"Isn't it obvious?" he once again replied to my question with no emotion at all, after which he finally startled both Erza and I with what he told us after that. "I was on a job. That's all" he added while showing us a rugged paper he had been keeping in his pocket that whole time, and that was nothing else than a request taken directly from the guild's board.

"Wait... What?" Erza muttered, a bit dissapointed. "Is that really all what you have been doing this whole week? Just a mission?"

"Wow, it must've been a very difficult mission if it took you almost 7 days to complete alone" I added while slightly in surprise.

"Not really" Laxus bluntly replied. "It was just long because I had to travel to many different far away places while carrying, delivering and protecting some special packages from bandits and robbers"

Both Erza and I startled and immediately face-palmed each other after hearing that. After all, it turned out that was the reason why Laxus had been carrying those suspicious packages all around!

"Oh, what a pain..." Erza annoyingly claimed. "We've totally wasted our time following you for nothing"

"Now now... Don't be like that, Erza" I muttered while grinning. "Don't you think this has been quite a good and relaxing trip between girls?"

"Yeah, I guess so... But I still believe there could've been better things to do this whole time" Erza finally replied while still annoyed, after which she slightly turned around only to widen her eyes in complete happiness and joy at the sight of none other thing than... a sweet shop.

That's right... That town had one of the best and most amazing places to visit according to Erza. What is more, she then noticed inside the showcase of the shop many different kinds of sweets and desserts... including of course her precious, sacred and more than delicious strawberry cake.

"Well, maybe it wasn't a complete waste of time!" Erza childishly claimed as she then proceeded to head straight towards the sweet store. "You can go ahead and return to Magnolia! I'll stay here for a while!" my red-haired friend finally added before entering the shop, leaving Laxus and me alone for good.

"Well, that was unexpected" I happily muttered while sweat-dropping.

"Jeez... She definitely has a problem" Laxus added with a serious expression.

And so, after walking in complete silence and alongside each other through the many streets of the town we were currently at for a very long time, both Laxus and I finally decided to head back to Magnolia while also breaking the weird silence at last.

"It's a nice day... Don't you think, Laxus?" I joyfully asked the lightning dragon slayer, who in return opted for simply display a small and barely noticeable grin on his face.

"Yeah... It sure is..." he finally claimed, only to then keep talking with me about many other things before finally arriving back at our guild...

Back with our dear friends...
