Authors note: I love play on words^^^. Also this chapter is unusually longer than most. Mostly because I need to finish this book and I plan to finish it before the end of Christmas break. I've been writing this book for about 3 years and I'm proud that I didn't give up on it.
ENJOY!
DIANA
"Are you sure I can't just get the chef's to whip you up something? The Doctor said you should get as much rest as possible, so you don't over work yourself." Eric says again for the fifth time in the last minute.
"I'm fine. Besides, he also said that I can't stay in bed all day every day. I need to get some exercise. What way better than to walk into the kitchen to make myself food then walk right back up to bed and sleep? It's like I'm a teenager again and only emerging from my cave to gather provisions until the next meal." I explain, piling my plate with food.
"You are so stubborn, but right nonetheless. I'm sorry I keep badgering you." He sighs then takes a bite of his apple. I shiver getting goosebumps from the sound of him biting into the apple.
"I'd rather you badger about my health then eat that apple in front of me. It sounds worse than nails on a chalk board." I cringe tapping my fingers impatiently on the counter for the microwave to beep.
"So that's why you hate crunchy apples?" He laughs. I narrow my eyes at him, daring him to take another bite. He gulps dramatically and sets the apple down.
"Yes, oh...!" I suddenly feel her give a stong kick. "Why does she always have to kick me when I'm about to eat? It makes me sick." I say graoning but smiling at how strong her kick is.
"She's hungry or she just knows that you won't get any nutrients from that pile of carbs." He says pointing to my plate that's full of mac&cheese, mashed potatoes and pork.
"Hey! No one is going to take my carbs away from me! They're my precious." I try mimicking Gollum from the Lord of the rings.
"Women..." He mutters.
"What about us?" Asks Violet, walking into the toom.
"We like our food and won't ever let anyone tske it away, no matter how unhealthy it may be for us." I say smirking smugly.
"Can't argue with that statement." Violet says then kisses Eric on the lips. He kisses back and they look like they might get further than just a kiss.
"Ahem!" I fake a cough. "Get a room. Preferably one that I will never sleep nor eat inside." I laugh.
"Sir! There are strangers outside the main gate! They claim they are friends of her majesty." A random gaurd says urgently running into the room.
"Describe them." Eric orders. He's probably hoping the same thing I am. That this isn't a trap for Nicholas to catch me.
"Two women. One with blonde hair and curses a lot. The other is a raven haired woman who hasn't spoken a word and has two children in her arms. They appear to be harmless." He explains as fast as he can muster.
"That sounds like Van and Mica! Send them in immediately!" I order. The gaurd bows and rushes out of the room.
"Are you sure we can trust them?" Eric asks.
"The last time you saw them they were trying to kidnap their boyfriends to keep Nick from learning the truth. I highly doubt they were sent here to bring me back." He laughs at my statement and we all go into the foyer to greet them.
