Foundation & Concealer
Your foundation and concealer are typically best when matte or satin, in neutral or warmer shades. Dewy or shiny finishes will look wrong on your muted complexion.Make sure you avoid pink-based foundation that will clash with your warmer complexion.
Colours: ivory, warm golden beige, olive brown, reddish tan, chocolate brown.
Bronzer & Highlighter
Bronzer is a great product for all Autumns! It brings out a healthy, golden glow in your appearance. The best bronzers for this season are neither too orange nor too ashy. They can go quite deep, especially if your complexion is on the darker side of the scale.
You're allowed to use contour, because Autumn means low lighting, and that's when contour comes in handy.
You can use bronzer both as contour and brow bone colour. Instead of bronzer, you should use a slightly darker powder than your foundation.
You can go quite a bit darker than you think and create bold shadow emphasis and once blended, it still looks normal.
Avoid bronzers that are too shimmery, as these can overwhelm your muted colouring.
Colours: medium gold, dark gold, dark tan, deep brown.
Eyeshadow
Neutral eyeshadow colours are the beiges, greys, browns, golds and dark umber on your palette. For highlight and accent shadow colours, opt for the coppers, deep reds and purples and also greens on your palette.
When choosing your eyeshadow, opt for an overall matte finish. You can also wear metallic eyeshadows, particularly in the deeper colours. Beware of light colours, though, because they might give an icy finish, which you need to avoid as it won't give your look any justice.
Avoid glitter and shimmer finishes as well as cool and blue-based eyeshadow colours.
Colours: ivory, apricot, pale beech, camel, wood, dark umber, copper, mahogany, dark indigo, teal blue, juniper, pale dark sea green, melon, lemon, sage, pea green, olive, spruce, grey, khaki, bronze, brown, purple.
Mascara
Your best mascara is brown-black, not true black. A very deep, warm grey will also work. Most black mascaras available are blue-black, which would be too cool for your naturally warm appearance.Colours: dark brown, warm dark grey.
Eyeliner
Eyeliner colours are similar to mascara with the addition of the more colourful aubergine. Choose an eyeliner in the colour most similar to your eyes, as this will make them stand out.Again, make sure to avoid the colour black as it will appear too dark and harsh for your appearance.
Colours: aubergine, dark olive, dark brown, olive, brown, aubergine.
Blush
Keep your blush natural-looking with pale salmon shades and pale reds if you are on the lighter side. If you are darker, you can go for some of the darker reddish pinks. And if you have brown in your skin colouring, you can opt for reds with a hint of brown. Trial and error may be needed here, for you to find the perfect shade of blush that will suit you as an individual.Avoid pink-based blushes because they are too cool for your warmer complexion. Make sure to keep your blushes on the matte side. Too much shimmer can be overwhelming on Autumns.
Colours: pale salmon, pale vermillion, berry red, cardinal red, pale magenta, mulberry, cinnamon, terracotta.
Lipstick
Each individual is different, but depending whether you are a lighter shade (pale oranges and reds) or darker shade (darker reds, browns and purples). But make sure the colours are not overly warm.Opt for matte finishes or ones with slight shine. Stay away from lip gloss and too much shine.
Colours: pale vermillion, berry red, mulberry, pecan brown, dark wine, dark chocolate, true red, tomato, terracotta, cinnamon, pecan.
